Moonlight shone on the deserted camp, a figure stood at the edge of the clearing scanning the lonely field. He flicked his tail, a sign that it was safe to come forward, the cats emerged.
'Wait! an anxious voice yelled, Shootingstar looked for the cat that had spoken, bravely Daisypool the clan medicine cat strode forward, but before she could say anything a growl rumbled from behind Blossomtree she turned and faced the wolf that was behind her, a chorus of triumphant howls erupted from the forest surrounding them, and the clan flew into battle. As daylight approached Blossomtree shook herself down, she scanned the horison her eyes were glued to the spot where Daisypool lay covered in blood, the cat had gone to hunt in Silverpelt now, oh StarClan WHY? She thought in anguish as the sun rose above the trees.
'May all cats of our clan gather beneath the highcliff for a clan meeting' Blossomtree shouted. From the youngest kit to the oldest elder every member of LeafClan had arrived to hear what the deputy had to say. Here we go Blossomtree thought as she faced her Clan. The wails that greeted her ears as she shouted the last word were beyond pain of dieing. 'As deputy it is my duty to take the role as leader. This is what Shootingstar would of wanted I must travel to the Moonstone tonight to receive my nine lives, but before I do that I MUST appoint a deputy to care for the clan in my absence, the new deputy will be Smokeheart!' Blossomstar told herself that she had done what Shootingstar wanted but am I going to be a good leader? she thought...
The travel to Moonstone with Lotusfur (the clans new medicine cat) Was nerve racking, as they reached the Thunderpath Blossomtree saw some StormClan cats milling about, when she and Lotusfur crossed they hissed at her but they're hisses turned to sighs of sympathy as they learned off Shootingstars loss of his final life, they let the new leader pass and Blossomtrees journey continued. As they reached the Moonstone, Lotusfur whispered in her friends ear a hasty good luck as she ran off to hunt for her new Clan leader…
Blossomtree settled down next to the shining stone before her, slowly she drifted off to sleep, the next thing she knew she had journeyed to StarClan as she looked around in amazement she saw nine cats stalking towards her. Their eyes shone with all of the knowledge of the world. Blossomstar waited seven times to see her mother 'with this life I give you the power to protect the young and weak not just to guard your own kits, but your whole Clan too' Marblestone told her daughter 'I love you' Marblestone whispered 'Wait!' Blossomtree yelled 'don't leave me!' As the final cat strode towards the young cat, Blossomtree realised that the cat in front of her was her old leader Shootingstar 'with this life I give you faith, use it at the gatherings you will attend with your Clan, goodbye Blossomstar I am proud of you my daughter stay strong and do what's right…'
As the dream ended Blossomstar felt reborn. 'Well?' A voice sounded beside her 'did you get your nine lives? Or is the LeafClan leader to good to speak to me now?' Lotusfur teased. 'I'll show YOU who LeafClans leader is!' Blossomstar yowled playfully 'now c'mon I've got to get back to camp, I hope they haven't been much trouble for Smokeheart'
As the two friends headed for camp they were met by the LeafClan patrol, all the cats dipped their heads respectfully to their new leader, as she smiled her sister Raindrop looked at her with pride…
