A/N: I have a weird mind...hehehe! Anyway, I'm just testing the waters at the moment. I'm not entirely sure where this is going to go, either... O.o; Ah well... I'll be going party by book/manga and partly by the anime/movies for both.
Disclaimer: I don't own Fushigi Yugi or Lord of the Rings! ::sniff:: The only thing that I do own is several hundred books, a couple of mangas, and a few anime videos...
Miaka eyed the huge National Library of Tokyo with a mixture of boredom, wariness, and surprise.
"My, its awful big isn't it?" she commented. "Hey...is the National Library national?" she called to her best friend, Yui, who was walking ahead of her. The other girl ignored her, striding inside the impressive building instead. Miaka frowned irritably. "Okay, so it wasn't very funny...Yui! Wait up!" The teenager dashed after her friend. As she entered the library, her eyes widened and she stared around curiously.
"Maybe I should come here more often. Oohh...Hey, they even have snack machines! As if I've never seen a snack machine before...the country must be full of them!" Miaka rambled on, as she fumbled with a 100 yen coin. The coin dropped, making an oddly loud sound as it hit the floor and rolled away. "Eh?" She bent down and picked it up. For a moment she had a feeling of deja vu, and the faintest touch of feathers brushing her mind. The feeling left her almost as quickly as it had arrived. "Nani?" When Miaka looked around, there was nothing there. "Hmph. Odd. Oh well. Yuuiii! Where are you?" Clutching a bag of chips to her chest, she trotted slowly up a long, dark flight of stairs. "Oh, where has she got to? Honestly, whenever we go to a library or bookshop she always runs off and it takes me ages to find her!" she complained. Peeking into a small, dusty room, she sneezed before calling Yui's name again. No sound came into the room. Stepping inside, she started padding around the shelves of books. "Hello? Oh, Yui, where are you?" she called as she brushed by a slightly over-full bookcase. A book toppled off and hit the floor. Miaka spun around, startled at the noise. "Woops, I knocked over a book." She bent over to pick it up. "YOW!" Yanking her hand back, she stared at the book with huge eyes as she absently massaged her fingers. She had felt a shock run through her as she came in contact with the book's cover. Leaning foreward, she eyed the book again. It appeared perfectly normal and innocent. "Hmm...The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. It sounds famliliar. Oh, yes, wasn't it that book that had elves and dwarves and stuff in, fighting against an evil guy who wanted some kind of magic ring? Sheesh, a ring! What will these evil guys think of to want to use to conqueor the world next?" She cautiously reached out a hand to touch it again, ready to jerk back if it shocked her. To her relief, nothing happened as she gingerly stroked the front cover. "Must have been some static electricity before-" Miaka was cut off with a yelp of surprise as a bright green light shone around her. "N- nani?" she cried, dropping the book and covering her eyes. Softer green light shone inside her eyelids, but the color darkened rapidly until all she could see was black
