A/N: First fic for the fandom! I might redraft it later, I just had to write this down. I can't tell if it's any good or not so review please!

I hope Mr. Wright isn't too mad at me for coming in late today, Apollo thought, as he climbed the stairs to the eccentrically named Wright Anything Agency. God, please don't let him make me scrub the toilet again.

"Mr. Wright?" He called as he opened the door. "I-I'm sorry I'm late. My alarm clock didn't go off."

No reply. The office was never this silent, never. And what was that smell?!

"Mr. Wright?" Apollo called, closing the door behind him and cautiously walking into the cluttered, colorful office. With each step, his fears increased, like snakes, slithering and twisting in his stomach.

"A-Apollo...?" came the pained reply. Apollo jumped out of his skin. "Mr. Wright?!" He said as he rounded the desk.

"Oh... Oh God. Oh God, Mr. Wright! What happened? Are you ok? Oh God, I gotta call an ambulance. I gotta find a phone. Where is a phone? I need a phone! Mr. Wright!"

Spread-eagled on the floor behind the desk was the disgraced lawyer Phoenix Wright, blood pooling from a wound in his stomach, staining his cheap sweat shirt.

"Listen to me Apollo." Phoenix whispered, interrupting his crazed rambling. "I don't have much time left, and there are things I need to tell you before I die."

"No, Mr. Wright, you're going to be fine! You'll see!"

"Shut up and listen to me! You need to hear this! Apollo, from the day I met you, I knew I had found my successor. You reminded me of myself. Not myself today, but myself seven years ago. And, and that's why... I love you as a son. I know I sometimes didn't act like it, but I could not have asked... for a better... son. But be careful, Apollo. Bad things happen to lawyers who know too much; Lawyers who get to close to the truth. My mentor met the same fate that I have. So did her mentor, but Apollo, promise me this: promise me you'll break the cycle. Promise me you'll live into old age and live to see your own apprentice grow and prosper, and... and keep the memories of attorneys before you alive... with Justice and Co. Law Offices. I... even got you your first case. Solve the mystery of my death, Apollo. Bring this dark age of the law to an end." Phoenix finished, pressing something into Apollo's hand, a flash drive.

"No, Mr. Wright, please. Don't leave!"

"Don't... worry... about me, Apollo. I'm fine. Say it with me, 'I'm fine.'"

"I-I'm f-fine." Apollo said shakily

"I'm fine." replied Phoenix calmly.

"I... I'm fine."

"I'm fine." Phoenix confirmed.

"I'm fine."

"I'm... fine." Phoenix whispered.

"I'm fine." Apollo replied.

But there was no one there to answer him.
