The Memory of You

The battle against the barbarian people of Rhun was growing harder for the Dunedain. The rain was walling hard on the people. The barbarians were coming. The camped Dunedain were racing against the odds. They readied the men and gathered the weapons.

Aragorn the chieftain of the Rangers was setting the men all in place. "Line up!" he yelled. Many men clothed in grayish green lined up right behind him. A man called Halbarad came forth and stood beside him. "The men are ready, my lord." he said. Aragorn nods and watches as the army of Rhun continue to come forward with raging roars. His thoughts turned to Arwen. His one true love.

I've seen to many things.

So many wonders and blessings.

My heart was troubled.

You gave me all that I need.

Arwen was lying on her bed in Rivendell. The soft song of the mockingbird was entering her ears. Tears fell from her soft face. She missed Aragorn. She was afraid.

I've known many things.

Some things that I don't want to know.

My heart was longing.

You gave me all that I want.

The attack came at last. The barbarians came and ran towards them. "Fire!" yelled Aragorn. At his command the archers shot the arrows at the attackers. The men of Rhun grew closer and drew their swords. "Unleash your swords!" commanded Halbarad. The rangers did as was told as the archers continued to fire the arrows. "On our call we move," said Aragorn. The sounds of the drums ran through the air. "Charge!" yelled both Aragorn and Halbarad. At that they all ran towards the barbarians and fought. As he fought Aragorn's thoughts turned to his beloved Arwen.

And the memory of you has kept me going.

My heart burns for you and your love.

I will always remember the moments of our days in bliss.

Your memory will keep me going on.

Arwen grew tired so her eyes closed. She no longer heard the song of the mockingbird. It fell silent as if knowing her sadness. She heard soft steps coming from her door. She heard the person stop and sit on a nearby chair. "My child you should rest. Aragorn has to fight this on his own," said Elrond.
Arwen looked at her father and sighed. She again closed her eyes and smiled as she thought of Aragorn. "No. He doesn't fight alone," whispered Arwen.

The fight ended once more. The barbarians had retreated and the rangers of have won. Aragorn and Halbarad stood side by side as the rest of the men gathered the injured and the dead. "We have done it, my lord." said Halbarad. Aragorn just nodded as his fellow ranger laughed and left. "Yes we have," whispered Aragorn. He eyes looked far away into the nothingness and the memory of his love Arwen came into his head.

And the memory of you will keep me fighting.

I will live for you and more.

I will dream of you with every breath I take.

I will remember you in my mind forever.

Your memory will keep me going on and on.

(The song was created by me.)
