Hey, so this is my first fanfic in Divergent. I usually do Percy Jackson, apart from those Harry Potter Oneshots.
I was listening to Symphony, and it just reminded me of Fourtris so much, I had to write.
A/N I don't own Divergent or the song.
A/N Bold and Italics is the song.

I've been hearing symphonies
Before all I heard was silence
His life was meaningless. Get up, computers, eat, computers, sleep. He joined dauntless to spite his father and get away. Dauntless, to him, meant adventures, and freedom. He hadn't expected it to be so….. Dull.
He was prepared to leave. Rebel. And then she came.
A rhapsody for you and me
And every melody is timeless
The way she did everything. The way she talked, the way she walked, the way she looked, it was everything he wasn't in Abnegation. And Dauntless. The way she talked to him, made him feel like, there was only two of them
Life was stringing me along
Then you came and cut me loose
He went on his daily routine, Wake up, breakfast, computers, lunch, computers, dinner, drink, sleep. No meaning to his life. He doubted anyone would actually care if he left.
Until she came along. Now his life had a new purpose.
I was solo singing alone
Now I can't find the key without you
He was used to living by himself. From a very young age. After Evelyn died, it's not like Marcus actually cared about him.
And she came. They depended on each other for survival. They depended on each other to live. And now, when he had been used to depending on her for everything, she left, without a trace. Leaving him staggering.
And now your song is on repeat
And I'm dancing on to your heartbeat
Now, everything he did, he couldn't stop the memories from flooding into his brain. Only after she died, did he realise what all they did together. Everything he did, there was a memory of her coming in.
And when you're gone, I feel incomplete
So if you want the truth
When she had come, his life felt complete. He was complete with her. Three happy months of full, utter completeness.
And then she died.
I just want to be part of your Symphony
Will you hold me tight and not let go?
Symphony
Like a love song on the radio
Will you hold me tight and not let go
She promised. She promised, that she wouldn't be foolish, and run around putting her life at danger anymore. She promised to always be with him. To not let go.
She promised
I'm sorry if it's all too much
Every day you're here I'm healing
Sometimes, it felt like he was pressurising her. Putting too much on her, just for him to be normal, and not broken. Every time she smiled, or talked, a little part of him healed. He couldn't help it.
Later he felt selfish.
I thought I was running out of luck
I never thought I'd find this feeling
Misfortune after misfortune. And then too much luck. He got away from his father. His father abandoned all connections with him. He got the top score in all his tests. He was chosen to be leader. He declined of course, but it was the opportunity that counts.
He thought he was running out of luck. And then she came
I just wanna be part of your symphony
Will you hold me tight and not let go?
Symphony
Like a love song on the radio
Symphony
Will you hold me tight and not let go
Symphony
Like a love song on the radio
Will you hold me tight and not let go.
He was Selfish. He was brave.
He was Divergent
