Title: Touch
Author: dem bones
Genres: Friendship/Angst
Summary: Gift fic for Laux14. Snape has never been touched except by one person.
Disclaimer: I don't own HP.
A/N: Written for Fanfic Gift Exchange with the prompts: Moonlight, Rain, "I'm stopping, I mean it." With the choice between Sirius/Remus, Draco/Harry, Tom/Harry, Draco/Hermione, Seamus/Dean and Scorpius/Rose or anything from Marauder's Era. Unfortunately I can't write Sirius/Remus for the life of me and none of the other pairings really spoke to me through the prompts so alas I've written a Snape/Lily.
At the late hours of the night, Severus Snape found he couldn't sleep.
The noisy snores of the boys who slept with him permeated the room.
Quietly Snape crept out of bed, past the portrait of the Slytherin common room.
He had taken to hiding in the shadows so late at night to prevent Mr Filch from spotting him.
Eventually he made his way to the great doors of Hogwarts and stepped outside.
He felt the small drops of water patter on his head. How he hated the rain.
For a while he stood there silently pondering over his friendship with Lily Evans.
Every now and then he remembered being silently grateful that she was nice enough to even touch him.
No one had done so.
Her sister, his parents, his friends, his enemies.
It's not like he had a disease.
A loud creaking nearly startled him out of his wits as he was contemplating all of this.
He turned seeing a young girl with long dark crimson hair and green eyes that glistened even on a dark night such as this one.
"Pouring, huh?" She asked before sitting down next to Snape.
He huffed irritably.
"What's on your mind, Sev?"
"What are you doing out here so late, Lily?"
Lily shrugged simply taking the time to stare at him. By keen observation it looked like Sev had talked himself into a corner.
"Do I have a disease?" He asked.
The question startled her and she realised that she had been staring.
"Whatever gave you that impression?" Lily asked, her tone teasing.
"I'm being serious."
"Like Sirius?" Lily asked giggling at her own pun.
"This isn't a joke." Snape said, his tone making it crystal that he wanted her to stop joking around.
"I'm stopping, I mean it." She said before taking deep breaths to calm herself.
"Everyone avoids my touch." He said.
Lily sobered at his suggestion and thought about what he said but for the life of her she couldn't even remember touching him even in gesture of friendship.
"Despite what they are surely your friends would at least embrace you around the shoulders at least once. I've seen James and Sirius do it and they're practically connected at the hip."
Snape sighed. "Must you mention them?"
"Who would be a better example?" Lily huffed.
Snape took out his wand from his robes and transfigured an umbrella from a rock he had picked up nearby.
Unfurling the umbrella, Snape was sure to put it over they're head to prevent them from getting further drenched.
"I have none." Snape replied.
"Thanks, Sev. For the umbrella I mean." Lily said. "I wonder why it started raining all of a sudden it was clear earlier today."
Lily looked out from beyond her umbrella and saw the huge grey raincloud above their heads. Suspicions on the corner of her mind she looked beyond the moonlight and saw James and Sirius above her laughing at them with mischevious grins.
"What is it, Lily?" Snape asked attempting to follow her gaze.
"Nothing." She said quickly. "I'm sure there is someone who wouldn't mind touching you, you just have to think about it, Sev."
Snape saw her, collect her feet and head back inside.
"Not everyone would touch me, only you." He whispered with a smile on his face.
