At first, Trumpkin didn't think he'd like Lucy that much, she was a silly, reckless little girl who always found a way to make him believe she was going to die, like with the bear, and when the ledge collapsed… But then he began to realize that she was kind-hearted and actually quite smart, she hunted in the forests as if she had done it all her life, without making a sound, silently throwing her knives at her prey and never missing.
She was sweet, she could be funny, and eventually, Trumpkin started to feel fluttery around her when he started feeling like that, he had no idea that it was the beginning of love. Of course eventually he realized, and then he knew, he knew that he would never be with her. He could tell she had fallen for Caspian the tenth, and that she saw himself as only a friend, a mere dwarf.
She was a Queen, while he was a lowly dwarf, she had accepted him as a friend, even though she knew his kind worked for the white witch. He supposed that was why he liked her so much, not that many people wanted to be friends with a dwarf. In the end he was okay with her loving another, as long as she was happy, and as long as she was still there with him.
So it was no surprise to him, that when she had to leave, he was devastated. But it was for the best, he needed to not see her for a while, to collect his thoughts. He needed to not see that smile, to not hear that laugh, to not be there when she cried. He needed to get away.
Of course, he would always love her but she would never love him back and he had to move on, even if it meant never seeing her again. That last hug, would be the last he would ever see of her… Or would it…?
Hai! The whole time writing this, I've been watching Prince Caspian, and I'm just like *-* through the whole thing. Remember to review if you L.O.V.E'd it! Anonymous reviews are enabled, so you don't need an account, just review! By the way, this is my first post since I got my new laptop, so yay!
