A/N: Hi, everyone! I got this idea after episode 9 of season 2, I think. The episode with Lydia's birthday party. And I felt horrible for Stiles and I felt he needed comforting. So who's better to comfort Stiles than Derek?
It's just a small drabble, but I've used ages to finish it because I haven't had time. So here you go! I hope you like it.
Everyone at the party was staring at him. Stiles stared helplessly at his father while he yelled. «You killed your mother,» he said loudly. Hearing these words paralyzed Stiles more than the kanima could ever do. He couldn't move, could just stand there and listen to his father accusing him of something he couldn't have stopped. «It's your fault she's dead!»
Stiles woke up, sweating incredibly much. He sat up. Stiles had had this nightmare ever since what happened at Lydia's birthday party. He knew that it had been something in the drinks that made him see what he'd seen, but he still felt horrible hearing those words coming from his father's mouth. Especially when he was the only family he had.
He panted nervously and laid back down. «It was just a dream,» he muttered to himself. "Just a dream..." Suddenly he realized that there was someone in his room. He recognized the silhouette immediately.
«Derek,» he said, sitting up in his bed again. Derek was sitting in a chair, looking at him. «Bad dream again?» he asked. Stiles nodded silently. Derek stood up and walked over to him. He sat down on the bed beside the human boy. "Don't worry about it," the werewolf told him, looking him in the eyes. "I know for a fact that your dad cares more about you than anything else."
"How can you know?" asked Stiles.
"Because I feel the same way." Derek cupped Stiles' cheek in his hand and kissed him softly on the lips.
It wasn't because Stiles was vulnerable. He knew that. Derek would never take advantage of Stiles being vulnerable. He wanted to comfort him, assure him that everything would be okay. And when he did, Stiles had no problem believing it, because he really needed assuring.
Besides, Derek was a really good kisser.
