It was strange at first; being human that is. It was like learning how to walk, an entirely new experience. Nothing felt the same anymore while in a human form, but it was a good feeling overall.
Transformation magic was a really expansive magic. As long as you had the skills to do it and a decent imagination you could change yourself into anything. Changing your face or changing your whole body, anything was possible. Transformation magic had several quirks to it. First off, like any magic you will run out of it eventually meaning that the transformation can't be kept up forever. And secondly, making your transformation look strong does not make you stronger, your strength is translated from your original form to fit your body.
Carla understood those two quirks very well, however she knew two idiots who did not.
A good bit of time had passed since the Alvarez Empire had invaded. Magnolia had been rebuilt, however a good portion Fiore still required assistance and a lot of time and resources had been dedicated to aiding those in need. During this time frame, Happy and Lector ended up learning transformation magic. Carla was dumbstruck when she found out, especially because she knew both exceeds had been madly in love with her. What started off with both of them learning transformation magic turned in a now never ending battle between both of them as Happy finally realized Lector was in love with Carla too.
At the time, both had yet to "perfect" their human transformations. Carla got a few good laughs of it, Lector learned really quick that making yourself muscular does not allow you to punch a hole through a massive rock. Eventually it got to the point they both started copying what the other did, resulting in both having slim, slightly muscular builds. Carla was pretty sure they could pass as brothers at that point.
Carla decided to humor them both. She would go on a date with one and go on a job with another. She had to keep the two far apart on the off chance they got into a fight. She actually started to enjoy their company. Maybe this wasn't so bad?
It had been a few months now since this all began. Carla was sitting up against a tree outside, thinking back. Both of them learning transformation magic made her the happiest she had been in a long time. It was getting cold out, it was about time she went back inside.
Carla smiled to herself and put a hand on her stomach.
"One of them is going to be very happy when they find out."
