Collars, Drugs, and Fists

Prologue

I hate this city. I hate it with everything I have left in me. The collars, the wage laws against predators, I hate it all...

I don't remember when it happened or why it happened, but I am here. Maybe I was somehow born here, maybe I teleported here, maybe I just died and was reincarnated here because fuck it, that seems like a great and original idea! That doesn't matter now, what does matter is the event that I have prepared for for almost a year. An underground fighting club is holding a match today, me against a tiger. You may think, how could a human ever win a fight with a wolf without a weapon? The answer to that is simple, no one is allowed to use claws.

I left the bathroom and entered the living room of my run down apartment. At least it is something. After all, the walls do effectively keep the wind out and the roof keeps the rain out. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door. I had to be careful in this area as police patrols were everywhere and wherever there wasn't one, a mugger was probably nearby. I traveled down the street, seeing innocent predators getting tased and arrested for no significant reason. Hell, you could just look at a cop and they would charge you with assault and get away with it.

After a while I arrived at my destination, a junkyard. For some reason, this was a safe area for predators No prey ever showed up here and if they did then they would just walk right off. I walked on in and I saw a makeshift boxing ring of sorts surrounded by various predators ranging from foxes to polar bears making bets on who would win the next fight, my fight.

"Hey Alan!" a grizzly bear said, putting his arm on my shoulder.

Mark was the bear who put this all together. Contrary to his appearance, he was a welcoming and forgiving mammal wo would stick up for his friends and family. Hell, he was the kind of guy who would break up a fight, which didn't make sense because he put together an illegal, underground fighting club.

"You ready for your first fight here?" he asked.

"Sure, after all I have been hitting a lifeless bag filled with sand for about a year now." I sarcastically replied.

"Well, I did put a bet on your victory. Everyone else is betting on the other guy. I see potential in you after all. So please win... I did put all my money in on this one..."

"Don't worry, I got this one under control." I said reassuringly

"I hope so." he replied

Just before I was about to head over to the ring, a fox approached Mark. He wore a ragged, green hawiian shirt with a slightly ripped blue and red stripped tie. Along with this he wore a greyish, brown pair of pants which had a few stains and, of course, he wore a collar.

"You know, they are going to find out about this someday." he said.

"I know Nick, but this keeps the money rolling in. Maybe we can end this someday, and live lives without fighting, but not today." Mark replied.

"Just, maybe consider putting your efforts into the revolution rather than pitting predator against predator... Ill stay and watch, but I won't be placing any bets." Nick said looking over to me. "Good luck out there kid."

"Thanks, I guess..." I said before walking over to the ring.

I placed my bag down just outside of the ring and I stepped inside. The wolf who I was going to fight, was standing there waiting for me.

"Huh, I had a feeling that you wouldn't show up." he said grinning.

"That's understandable, but I did. After all, how could I miss my first fight?" I replied.

"Well, I'm glad you did show up. This is gonna be fun."

Mark stood outside of the ring. "Alright mammals, you know the rule. No claws. Otherwise, anything goes..." He stood there for a moment, looking at the various mammals whose attentions have been caught. "Now... fight!"

The wolf instantly threw a punch at me and managed to hit me directly in the chest, which knocked me to the ground. I quickly got back up and threw a right hook at him, making a direct impact at his hip. I then threw about three punches at his face before he slamed his knee into my stomach. I backed up, and he threw another punch at my face except this time I dodged it. I grabbed his extended arm and maneuvered him so that his back was facing me. I then slammed my right elbow into his spine and he yelped in pain. He tried to turn around and throw his elbow into my face in the process but I kicked him in the leg, forcing him to fall onto the ground. I then threw three more hard punches into his face which knocked him unconcious.

The crowd did not know whether to be pleased or angered. Yeah they all lost their bets, but it was was a mildly entertaining fight (and from what I had heard, that wolf was a total dick). They all cheered anyway, some throwing money while others just hopped and flailed their arms about.

And that's when it happened... The moment Nick was dreading ever since the fighting club was started...
