This was requested by a friend. I heard she likes it so I thought I'd upload it here too.

How do you seperate yourself from the crowd in a big ballroom? Easy. You don't. You have to be a delicate flower and please everyone's eyes even if you'd never even think about wearing such bright colours when you're alone.
Mammon had placed herself in a corner far away from everyone. She didn't enjoy these fancy gatherings at all. Sure the music was quite pleasant but the people...
To make it simple she straight up hated everyone in the room. She hated her family, she hated their guests. Everyone expected her to be a perfect daughter and little princess.
Oh how she hated it.
Her parents had dared to put her in a light coloured dress with lots of ruffles and ribbons to make her look a little more presentable. At least she was allowed to keep her hair open and every ribbon out of it.
Now she sat there in the corner, which was really difficult due to her puffy dress, and read a book she had loved since she was a little kid.
She didn't look up when people tried to talk to her or even dance with her. She didn't want to talk to anyone. She didn't want to see anyone. She didn't want to be there to be exact but she had to so she stayed away from everything and everyone.
Until he entered the room that is.
She didn't know why she looked up at him but she did. He was tall, had weird bluish hair and a heartmelting smile on his face. He wore a really expensive dark blue suit that looked really well on his slender figure.
She put her book aside, got up, gathered her dress and hurried over to greet him with her kindest smile like any young woman would.
„Good evening, sir", she said, looking down and still smiling. He seemed to be very interesting to her. Maybe he would proof worthy of her presence?
„Oh, what a pretty young lady", he replied with a grin. She couldn't see it but she heard the grin in his voice. „Would you allow me to dance with you?"
Mammon looked up at him and noticed the two different coloured eyes he had. They hypnoticed her. She was unable to take her eyes from him. What happened to her? Her heart seemed to bounce in her chest, her breath came a little faster than usual.
„Yes, of course, sir."
He laughed and took her hand, leading her to the middle of the room. She felt the stares in her back, mostly coming from her parents. They had never seen their daughter dance with a man.
They had never seen this man before either. Did they invite him to the dance? They couldn't remember but he seemed to be there for a reason.
Mammon still had her eyes on him. She was so lost in these eyes that she didn't notice how the time had passed until he let go of her hand and turned to leave.
„I'm sorry my little flower but I have to leave now."
She felt her heart sink in her chest and wanted to go after him but somehow he seemed always out of reach and then disappeared in the crowd again.
Is this what falling in love feels like?
