WISHES

"Look at that star, Tobias. The one shining the brightest. Isn't it beautiful?" Rachel asked.

Just like you are. Tobias gazed down at Rachel from his perch on his tree, taking in her beauty. The soft, ambiguous moonlight surrounded her face in a glowing aura, and made her hair glisten. God, she's beautiful, just like an angel.

Yeah, it is. I used to look at the stars when I was little and wish on them.

"Really? What about?"

Oh, really nothing. Just about having a nice family or having a normal life, instead of the screwed one I had. Tobias thought-spoke quietly.

Both were silent for a while, meddling in there own thoughts.

"Do you still wish, Tobias?"

Sometimes, not often. It seems that it doesn't work, it never has. So why wish?

"Because sometimes it just makes you feel better. Come down and wish with me, please?"

Tobias hesitated, then he flew down and landed beside Rachel on the soft grass.

"No, morph to human, you have to do it properly," a mischievous gleam crossed Rachel's eyes.

Tobias looked at her, then demorphed and laid beside Rachel.

"So now what?"

"Do you remember the little rhyme you say before you wish?"

"Yeah."

"Well, then let's say it together, and then wish. On the biggest star."

"Starlight, starbright, first star I see tonight," They looked at each other and grinned.

"I hope I may, I hope I might, have the wish I wish tonight," Tobias and Rachel closed their eyes and said a silent wish.

"What did you wish for?" Rachel asked.

"I can't tell you, otherwise it won't come true," Tobias said smiling. It felt good being with Rachel. The wind gently whispered through the air, urging Tobias to say something.

"Rach…"

"What?" Rachel looked Tobias in the eyes. They're so deep, so beautiful.

"I, I…"

Rachel felt Tobias grab her hand and pulled her forward.

"I love you," Tobias whispered gently into her ear.

Rachel felt tears fall from her eyes, soft, happy tears. She hugged Tobias.

"I love you too."

They gazed into each other's eyes, falling into each other's souls. They're lips came together slowly, and they kissed softly, then passionately.

Both of they're wishes came true.

The star that they wished on seemed to blink and shine brighter before painting the sky in a flash of brilliant light as it fell toward the earth.

Wishes do come true.

This is my first literary work for Animorphs that is not a poem. Any critic is helpful. :0)
