Alison couldn't believe she was going to a Halloween party at the old Springlake Funeral Home. The guy giving it, Joey, was really out there. He was into all sorts of creepy things. She'd even heard one time that he tried to communicate with the devil through a séance. What a weirdo, right? Either way, she figured with someone who was that strange combined with the fact that he is having a Halloween party and at the old funeral home, it was maybe something worth going to see. Could be fun.
Inside the funeral home, it was cold as ice and the air had an uncomfortable electric vibe about it. It was giving Alison the creeps, big time.
"Guys, lights please? I'd like to be able to see what's around me."
Almost like magic, big candles were lit and the room was bathed in a soft orange glow.
"I think it's time to…"
A loud, unnatural scream rang out through the funeral home.
The girls in the bunch screamed, they all looked around in terror.
"Oh my God! What was that?!"
"I don't care what it was let's just all get the Hell out of here now."
There was a sound like someone blew out all the candles just then, and an icy cold breeze passed through the lobby.
Alison screamed in fright and ran out the door and into the night.
She stopped just at the edge of the sidewalk, looking back in confusion.
"Hey! Guys?! What the Hell?!"
No one followed behind her. Was this some kind of joke everyone was in on to scare her?
"Hey guys? This isn't funny, c'mon!"
Alison walked up to the door and pulled it open slowly and cautiously, then stepped back into the lobby, flicking her lighter a few times until she could see her surroundings.
She stood in one place and looked around in the darkness. There was blood splattered on the walls around her. A dreadful feeling overcame Alison just then. The only thing on her mind now was getting far away from her. She turned to leave and froze. The door was gone. Completely gone. It was just a wall now in place.
"What the …"
Alison turned slowly, the flame from her lighter illuminating the dusty, chilly interior of the old Springlake Funeral Home. There wasn't a door in sight. It's as if it had just disappeared or something. Something was going on and Alison could feel that it was definitely supernatural.
A pair of decaying, rotted hands popped out of the floor, grabbing at her ankles and pulling her down into the floor.
"Ahhhhh!"
The floor caved in around her and everything went black.
There was no light. The air felt very dry and still. It smelled stale. Alison tried to move but her arm hit what she something solid on both side of her. She reached out above her and felt something solid as well. It was a coffin. The young woman screamed in horror as she beat on the coffin lid wildly.
