Friends Forever

Be my friend, and I'll be yours, We will fight together through these wars, It's not that hard; just take my hand, We will journey together through this land. Together, Together, Together forever.

Saria stopped Link as he was about to leave the Kokiri Woods forever.

"Wait...you're not going, are you?" she asked, with deep concern.

Link looked in her eyes with deep astonishment and sadness. Her eyes were full of sadness and depression. He knew that she was heartbroken and would be if he left.

"I...I..I have to. You and I both know that." He said as she walked towards him.

"Yes...I know. Here...I...want you to have this." She said as she rummaged through her pockets. She pulled out an old ocarina.

"No, I couldn't, it's yours, you keep it." He said denying it.

"But I want you to have it. Keep it with you and you will remember me." She said as a single tear ran down her soft-skinned cheek.

"Thank...you." he said, trying not to cry himself.

"And if you feel lonely or miss me...you can play it." Saria said as more tears were streaming down her face.

"Oh, Saria, I'm sorry. I don't want to leave my best friend. I...I promise to come back after I save Hyrule." He wrapped her in a hug. "I promise." He said again as he wiped her tears gently. She hugged back for a short while and then stopped.

"Then promise me that we will be friends forever and we will never forget each-other." She said. He smiled and knew that she understood.

"I promise that our friendship will never die." he said as he watched her scamper back to the woods.

"I promise," he whispered.

Will we stay friends forever? Will we stay together? You tell me and I'll tell you, The truth that we belong, Together, Together, Together forever.
