AN: I don't picture Narcissa as evil. Bellatrix is, and maybe Lucius, but not Narcissa. I think she's been forced into serving Voldemort. Anyway, the idea of her as a teenager intrigues me. Prompt number 1 - "Introduction".

"Narcissa, darling?"

"Yes, Mother?"

I'd learned long ago that if my mother calls me darling, I'm about to hear something I probably won't like.

"This is Lucius Malfoy, and he's here to ask for your hand in marriage."

I put on my best smile, and curtsey politely. It's expected of me. Only afterwards do I look at him. I remember him from Hogwarts. He left, last summer, and I'm now in my last year. He had a reputation for being haughty and cruel even then. His face shows that he hasn't changed a bit.

"Enchanted, Miss Black." I don't fit my name at all. Bellatrix is dark, and so is Andromeda, but we don't talk about her. I'm the only blonde in the family, almost as pale as the man standing in front of me.

"Mr Malfoy, Narcissa would be delighted to accept your proposal."

Actually, I wouldn't, but it isn't the done thing to complain, or even voice an opinion. After Andromeda broke every rule in the book by running off and marrying her muggleborn, my mother took it upon herself to make sure that Bellatrix and I found good, pureblooded husbands. Her words, not mine. While I'm not convinced about muggleborns, I do envy Andromeda – she had a choice.

From now on, I won't even be able to make a decision about the wedding, not even to choose the robes I'll be wearing. I'll be marrying Lucius Malfoy the week after I leave Hogwarts – it's all been settled.

All I can hope is that after I bear him a son, he won't bother me any longer. A faint hope, but it's all I have.

AN: So, have I made an acceptable start with teenage Narcissa/Lucius? I won't know unless you review.
