A girl is chosen to become crystallize and the crystal that they become would become a source of power for the country.
Giving life or death to the country, depending on if the girl is pure hearted or not. Although it is said it is the Goddess Etro who chooses the chosen one.
Forming a mark on a baby girl.

Although they will never sacrificed a baby to become a crystal. The new born baby is young and knows very little of the world or the duty that she must fulfill.
Instead they would wait until the girl's eighteenth birthday. The priest of Etro training and teaching her about the teachings until her eighteenth birthday.
How it is an honor to be chosen.
In some ways she becomes the country's princess regardless if she has no noble or royal blood running through her veins. The people treat her as such.
Knowing that that they will continue to give this kingdom life.
At the same time knowing that she can also bring death and famine to this country if darkness and hatred plagues her heart.
The next girl has been chosen, and her name is Stella Nox Fleuret.
