You were my best friend, my closest friend. We fought, we pranked, we made up, we pranked, we studied, we pranked. Together. Always together.

Now I'm in Azkaban. Now you're dead.

What a twist of irony. We always expected to be friends forever, thought we'd live forever.

Why couldn't we have known that wasn't possible?

We were the infamous Marauders in our school days, the exceptional young Aurors afterward. Now you're poor James Potter, killed by Voldemort, and I'm Sirius Black, the infamous, cold-hearted murderer.

I miss you.

When I told you about my secret, you didn't reject me. In fact, you shocked me and actually embraced the fact that I was a werewolf, saying you'd never leave me.
