Inspiration comes from jjhotchforever. My take on the text message Ryan Wolfe got at the end of the episode. Short- sorry about that. XD Spoilers for Going Ballistic, the season 6 season finale.

Look, if I owned CSI: Miami, Retribution would have happened.

Finished

Horatio held his phone up in the light, staring at the screen through his sunglasses and flipping the phone shut. He looked around, hoping to see Julia and Kyle somewhere, but he saw nothing. No people coming to board the plane- no mother and her son for whom he cared for most. He fidgeted nervously, the plane's engine beginning to roar to life. Horatio never fidgeted. 'Damnit, where are they?' he thought angrily, his sunglasses casting a glare onto the concrete under him.

The plane door shut, and Horatio felt a sinking feeling arise in his stomach. They didn't make it. They didn't make it to the plane on time. He stood there, fingering his sunglasses and waiting. No one knew what he was waiting for, though- he just stood there, not moving. It was almost as if he was waiting for something. Waiting for an event to occur within a matter of minutes... or seconds.

And suddenly, it happened.

A gunshot ripped through the air and struck Horatio right in the stomach. His face turned to one of pain, his sunglasses tumbling out of his hands. The redhead fell to the concrete, his hands out in front of him, eyes still open in shock.

Ryan looked down at his cell phone and swallowed. One new text message was waiting for him. He looked around and hit the 'open' button.

The words read "It's done."

The CSI shook his head. He could believe his boss had sent him this. If everything went according to plan, he was now face-down on the concrete at the private airfield. Ryan narrowed his eyes and walked to the Hummer, silently praying and hoping that Calleigh wasn't watching out the window right now to see where he was going.

Horatio told him that this would probably make up for nearly all the wrongs in his career if this had all gone well. He looked down at the number again and got in the Hummer, shutting the door and leaning his head back against the head rest. 'I hope this all worked out, H,' he thought, fingering the phone and looking at his keys for a moment. 'I'm hoping this is what you really wanted. Because if it is, I'm glad I could help you.'

He gave a soft and bitter laugh. Horatio could be so hotheaded sometimes. But he had his reasons for doing this. Ryan knew that the reason would be good in the end. He also knew that Horatio was a darker person than he ever once knew.

He just hoped that the text from Horatio was actually true.

Yep, this is what comes from a tired mind. Feel free to review.
