Maryse Penhallow sat in her study, tapping absently on the desk in front of her. She stared at the coffee which was sat, perched on the desk which was in front of her and contemplated weather or not to drink a bit. She outstretched her hand and picked it up after many moments had passed, and just as she was about to take a sip, her phone went off, making her drop the cup on to her new black suit.

"Shit."

Maryse stood up immediately and reached for some tissues, allowing her phone to keep ringing. Five minutes passed and the phone hadn't stopped ringing. She sighed and flipped it open, "Robert Lightwood if you think this is funn-"

"It's not Robert, Maryse."

Maryse rolled her eyes, "Sure it isn't. What do you want, Mr-Monotone." She said, rolling her eyes.

"I want to know what your doing Maryse."

Maryse frowned, "Why would you like to know that?"

"Because I'd like to know who I'm looking at."

"Excuse me?!" Maryse pulled a draw open and reached around for her knife, when she got it, she put it on the desk.

"I meant I would like to know who I'm talking too."

"That's not what you fucking said asshole! Look, I hate being fucked w-"

"Call me a asshole once more." The voice said. It had a edge to it.

"ASS-" Maryse began to get scared, something which was uncommon for one of Valentine's cult or a Penhallow.

"Do it." The voice yelled

"HOLE!"

"Your dead bitch."

The lights went off in the room and Maryse screamed. She grabbed the knife and ran to the door. It was locked. She took a deep breath and forced a laugh, "Very funny." She said, "The jokes over now.. Who are you?"

"A asshole - remember?"

A shadow passed by the window and it smashed abruptly. Maryse screamed. "Getting scared now are we?" The voice laughed.

"Yes! Please! Leave me alone! My mom and dad ar-"

"Your mom and dad are away on business and your brothers off fighting in the Reihni War! Don't try and fool me bitch!"

Maryse began to sob, "Leave me alone..."

"Alright, Maryse. Lets play a game though first. If you guess which door or window I'm at before they all smash, you win, and you get to live. If you don't well, your fucked." The voice laughed, "But I'll tell you one thing. One door is safe, and one window is safe, and if you get out of either one, or tell me where I am, and are correct, you live."

Maryse blinked tears out of her eyes and heard windows begin to smash.

"Tick tock, tick tock. You only have... Ooo, thirty seconds to live before I come and get you."

"I don't know!" Maryse yelled, "Please I don't know!" She felt her knees give and hit her head on a chair.

Everything became blurred for her.

"Maryse!" Jane Penhallow shouted, "We're home!"

"She's probably in her room." Jane Penhallow's husband, John, said. He walked futher into the house and smelt a familiar smell of rotting. "What the.." He scanned the room before yelling out, "OH GOD!"

Jane Penhallow rushed into the room and followed John's gaze.

"My baby!" Jane cried, rushing across the room.

Maryse's body was suspended 6ft in the air, her head hanging out of one half of a window, her body hanging out the other. Her stomach had been slit open, and her hair had been hacked off, along with half of her skull and flesh.

That's when the killings began.
