While walking around Varrock one beautiful day, I decide to wander into the Saradomin Church. Once inside Grufeld Bach greets me. As we speak, Grufeld tells me that he has spent many years chasing a dangerous fugitive named Denath. While in pursuit of Denath, he came to posses a powerful, forbidden item that could cause the destruction of Varrock! Gurfeld pleaded with me for assistance in hunting down this fugitive. Once I pledged my allegiance to Gurfeld and his cause, he went onto explain that Denath is a Zamorakian extremist in search of releasing Delrith from his ancient banishment. Denath holds the tome of demonology, the only known artifact that can release Delrith back from the plane of demons to the plane of humans. Delrith is able to command devastating magic and impervious to many well-known attacks.
I begin to feel that I am out of my league when Gurfeld tells me about a weapon that can be used to harm Delrith. This weapon is the holy sword, Silverlight. It is interred beneath the Sardonminist church in Varrock, directly underneath where we stand and speak! This gives me great hope. Gurfeld instructs me on the retrieval of Silverlight so that we may be prepared for battle in case we are too late. Gurfeld begins to locate Denath and I make my way to the crypt to claim Silverlight. As I approach I can see spirits encircling Silverlight. As I approach, three of them make theirselves known to me. They are the protectors of Silverlight and will not allow me to take hold of it until I have proven myself through three trials. I must pass the Trial of the Body, the Trial of Faith, and the trial of the Mind. I accept their trials although I am concerned for time and the difficulty of these trials. Thankfully I am well equipped and pass these trials with ease and proven to be worthy of Silverlight.
The spirits dispel their barrier around Silverlight and award it to me. I return to the church immediately with Silverlight to locate Gurfeld and see how his progress is coming on locating Denath before he releases Delrith from his banishment. When I arrive, Gurfeld is awaiting my arrival and tells me that he has located Denath beneath the Temple of Zamorak in the Southwest corner of Varrock. Gurfeld has already witnessed Denath attempting to summon Delrith so we move quickly to stop him.
We arrive at the Temple of Zamorak and make our way deep into the crypt, where we locate Denath. We are too late! Delrith has been summoned. Delrith believes that he can not be stopped. I prove him to be wrong by unsheathing and revealing Silverlight to Delrith. Delrith laughs at me and claims that he will destroy us both! I battle the evil demon and with the help of Gurfeld's protective spells defeated the demon. We escaped the crypt of Zamorak and returned to the Sardominist Church. Grufeld thanked me profusely and handsomely for my assistance. He took a vow inside the church to take greater care when entrusted with the protection of powerful artifacts in the future.
