Once again I'm trying writing more than drabbles and one-shots. Hope you like it

Prologue

Place: sparring field of Team Gai

-And so my youthful students we are taking this mission. Completing it we will show Team Kakashi that we are the best. And if we fail we will run 1000 laps around Konoha and 500 times jump…

Tenten sighed. Gai made the speech before every single mission and she already could tell it by heart. She liked Gai-sensei; he was a good teacher and a good person. But sometimes she just wished to have something heavy in her hands and try beating some sense in him and turn him into a normal person. The only reason why she hasn't ever done this was that she didn't believe he would change.

Neji was bored and started getting impatient. The only sane person on his team was Tenten but unfortunately they had to do the missions with Lee and Gai. Usually during the mission he got so annoyed by those two, that when they fought the enemy he let his anger out on them and no one survived.

-Yosh Gai-sensei!-shouted Lee- we will defeat every one who stands in our way!

-To do that we have to at least depart from Konoha- said Neji

Gai and Lee looked at him as if he just said something completely stupid but, nevertheless, they started going in the needed direction. Well going in a ninja speed that was almost like running for normal humans.

The mission was to find the lair of an A-ranked criminal gang that disturbed the villages of Fire Country. They knew approximately the direction and the search radius, but the latter was pretty huge.

After a few days they reached the destination.

-For a successful outcome and to save time I suggest making two teams. Me with Tenten and Gai-sensei with Lee.

-Yosh, Neji came up with a good solution, we will meet in 3 days to share the result.

They didn't have any time to waste, so the team separated and left.

It was almost evening and still no results. Neji couldn't find anything even with Byakugan.

-Let's find a good place to rest for today-suggested Tenten.

-I think there is a cave about 1 km away from us. I can't tell if there's someone, we have to get closer.

And as they neared the cave, when they were 400 meters away, Neji suddenly made a hand sign for Tenten to stop moving.

-There is a group of 11 persons inside, they match the description.

They were ready to attack and went in the direction of the cave.

-They don't seem to be aware of our presence. It's the best time to attack.

And they did it, Tenten and Neji went inside the cave ready for everything. Well, for almost everything except for what actually happened. It was empty, not a single person was there.

-Neji, what happened, where are they?

-I don't know I saw them clearly when we neared. Maybe…

A loud noise interrupted him and suddenly the world went black.

-What the hell?- Tenten cried out

-Sounded like fallen rocks.

-Shit. Can you break them with Juyken?

-I'll try.

All of the attempts went in vain until Neji didn't have any chakra left.

-I guess we are in deep deep shit.-muttered Tenten

-In a dark deep shit-added Neji

I'm aware that there is a plot hole; I just couldn't find any solution. But if you notice it and have any ideas, please tell them to me!
