So, this is just a quick, short, angst story from Lelouch's point of view. Enjoy.
Who did he think he was?
Going around spouting "yes, Your Majesty"s, and "yes, Your Highness"s, kneeling and bowing, serving and protecting, letting them command him.
He was such a damn lapdog.
No, he was the boy that Lelouch held hands with that summer, the boy he kissed for the first time, they both kept your lips closed and didn't move, and then Lelouch ran away.
Lelouch slammed his fist against the shower wall again.
And again.
Suzaku always let everyone walk all over him.
Milly would ask him to stay after school to put things away. He would, of course. Lelouch would find him there, packing things into boxes. "What are you doing?" He'd ask softly, and they'd kiss again.
The way he looked at Euphie. He'd been so happy then.
The way he looked a Lelouch when the mask cracked in half, falling on either side of him.
Like he'd wanted to kill him.
"I really hoped it wouldn't be you." The gun pointed at him seemed so menacing. But his hands were shaking. He was weak.
Lelouch got out of the shower, wrapping a towel around his waist. He let his hair drip.
He caught sight of himself in the mirror, and his face cracked into a grin. There was that glowing Geass in his left eye. Suzaku hated it so much.
He thought once more of the way Suzaku's hand wound tightly in his hair, slamming his face in the ground, now at the feet and mercy of his hated father.
He'd been so angry and disoriented after that. Lelouch would stand with Suzaku at that party, and Suzaku wouldn't meet his eyes. He never really was good at hiding his emotions.
Was the eleven afraid that he'd burst into rage at the sight of Lelouch? That'd he'd want to shoot him right there?
The black cape felt heavy today. Lelouch shook his hair out, picking up Zero's mask. He put it over his face, still smiling to himself.
"Lelouch, we'll always be friends, right?" Suzaku spoke as he waded in the water with his new friend, the hot, Japanese sun beating overhead.
"Of course, Suzaku. Always."
