"Danny!"

My sister's shouting breaks me from my daze. She sits across from me at the kitchen table, eating her breakfast.

"Danny! You're drooling all over your cereal." I shake my head, attempting to shake my dizziness off. I sigh.

"I don't know why I'm so dang tired today... I got like, 10 hours of sleep."

"Beats me. Anyways", she stands up and puts her plate in the sink, "Hurry up and finish your breakfast. I'll be in the car waiting." And with that she walks out of the room. A moment later I can hear her car turn over outside. I quickly scarf down my food and walk over to the basement door.

"Dad! Jazz and I are leaving for school!" I shout down the stairs.

"Mmmhmmm..." Is all the response I get.

I sigh and walk to the front door. Outside, my sister pulled her car up from the back of the house and was waiting for me.

We drove for the longest time in silence. My sister only broke the silence right before we got to our school.

"Any response from dad?"

"No", I say slowly. "Do you think he will ever get over mom's death?"

"No, I don't think he will ever get over it, but he needs time to heal."

"But it's been four years... I know it's hard losing mom, but we've moved on. Why can't he?" I looked over at my sister.

"Everyone is different, Danny. Give him time." She pulled the car into a parking spot and turned the car off. "There's no use worrying about it, so just give dad some more time. I'm sure he'll be fine soon."

Haha... I know it's been over a year since I last updated, and when I finally do, it's a rewrite. I'm sorry. I'm honestly the most lazy person ever. Hopefully I commit to writing this this time, but I will no longer make promises that I can't keep.

Also, I'm looking for someone to co-write this with. Well, more like feed me ideas and help me write parts that I'm stuck on. My thinking is that if I have someone to collab with, then I will have more motivation. PM me if you are interested.
