Lightning Surge

when: well, recently I guess.

disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars, it is owned by none other than George Lucas.

A/N Set during the the moments in Return of the Jedi when Luke is being "electrified". It's Vader's thoughts about his son. SHORT, you've been warned.

The lightning surged through Luke's body, my only son, Vader's thoughts seemed to come in slow motion.

Luke writhered on the ground, and somewhere deep inside of him Vader felt something he hadn't in long, long time.

Lord Vader the evil Sith lord heard the voice of Anakin Skywalker. The name used to be his, NO it IS his he corrected.

No matter how much black cloth he was wearing, no matter how badly he was disfigured, or how much of him was not human, he was still Anaikn Skywalker.

Vader is still the son of Shimi Skywalker. Vader's thought continued even after the sadness the thought of his mother brought him. He was still the maker of that dope of a droid, C3P0, he was still the former master of R2D2, he was still the young, irresponsible padawan of his old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

And on top of all of that he was still very much in love with, and the husband of Padme'.

Darth Vader had re-transformed into Anakin Skywalker again, and this time when he looked upon young Luke Skywalker different thoughts occupied his mind.

Luke is my only son, and he is dying right in front of me for making a decision I was too weak to make. I've destroyed his entire life, His mother, sister, he and I could have been together right now, but I made the bad choice.

Luke, who is so very much like me did the one thing I could not, he made the right decision, he repeated again. Only one last thought was on Ani's mind, this time I will make the right choice too.

With that Anakin Skywalker lunged forward, and grabbed Emperor Palpatine, and no matter how much the lightning hurt he threw him down the long shaft.

Anakin took deep, ragged breaths, he had done it. Anakin had saved his son, and finally made the right decision.
