A/N - I've been doing a rewatch of SG-1 and this just popped into my head while watching. Hope you all like it.
"This is all about noble sacrifice for you, isn't it?" Vala was incredulous that Cameron was being so cavalier about Daniel's deterioration.
"I'm sorry, wh-what about you?" Cameron accused.
"What?" Sometimes the male mind was impossible to follow.
"When you flew that cargo ship to the gap of the supergate you knew damn well you might not come out the other side alive." With that one sentence he brought her up short.
"No that was different," Vala denied.
Cameron wasn't letting her get away with that. "Different because you were the one taking the risk."
"No!" she said, furiously, sadly. "It was different because you were all just as happy to get me out of your hair."
"Princess, even if that were true, it is still hard to see someone you know sacrifice themselves for you."
"Cameron, it's still not the same. Daniel didn't love me. Not like I love him." Tears welled up in her eyes.
Cameron looked at her sympathetically. "The hard part of being on this team isn't putting yourself in danger. It's watching those we care about putting their lives in danger. Congratulations," his voice was flat. "You really are a part of this team."
