it was a sunny day in the beginning of the spring, still a little pale from the winter's chill. On the top of the mountain was a certain tortoise, meditating. He smiled, satisfied. He managed to find inner peace in the past few days, the very purpose of his trip to this mountain, and was having great joy with it. He breathed deeply the mountain's air, content. Suddenly, he heard a cry, a kitten cry. Oogway, the infamous tortoise, opened his eyes, searching for the source of the cry. What kind of cub would be all alone in a mountain like this? Or more important, what kind of animal is so strong for climbing such a mountain in such a young age?

Oogway searched and searched, until he came upon a cave. Inside the cave he could see a tiny carriage that held a feline cub cuddled in it, wrapped with brown cloth. Tangled, to be precise. Oogway walked closer, and pulled the cloth. Beneath it the baby was a tiger's cub, but he was black. Strange. At the exact moment the cub saw the enormous tortoise, he startled. He weakly swept Oogway's claw with his own tiny and harmless claws which Oogway barely felt, and jumped out of the cabin with all four, and stopped straight in front the cave's wall, dead end. The cub turned around to Oogway. The tortoise blinked. Barely a few days old, but can already walk?He wondered.

The cub was terrified. Oogway could easily see it in his eyes. They were white with yellow irises, unlike most carnivores' eyes that are yellow with crimson irises. It seemed the cub went through a tragedy, and probably suffered a great lost. That explained his fear; he couldn't trust anything, or anyone. As Oogway got closer the cub looked more and more frightened, he eventually tried to stand up on two legs - but in vain. After all – he is barely a baby and it is a miracle he can walk at all. So he tried one last attempt - growling. He pulled back his lips revealing a set of tiny teeth and two little pointy fangs - so tiny and harmless it was heartbreaking, and tried to growl. But, like all few-days-old cubs, nothing came out. Only a barely audible hiss. With nothing left to intimidate the tortoise, the cub closed his eyed as Oogway's hand was a few inches from him, waiting for the worse. As Oogway reached the cub he flinched, but immediately gave in as he hugged the tortoise's hand with his own tiny hands, which were covered with thin, soft fur. Oogway lifted the cub off the ground, and pulled him into an embrace. The cub then opened his eyes and raised his tiny head to look on Oogway's face with question in his eyes, as if pleading for something. Oogway simply smiled. The cub tensed body relaxed and nuzzled into the tortoise's shell, purring lightly and falling asleep instantly. "Chronos" Oogway said. It didn't really have a meaning, but it gave the feeling of a powerful being, and confidence. It will be the perfect name for the cub. "Chronos Lait."
