"Well… I guess this is goodbye," said Marco as he started to leave.
Moon stopped him.
"And where do you think you're going?" asked Moon.
"Well… my mission here is done, and Mewni is safe," said Marco, "I know Star has her duty as princess and…"
"Who said we were keeping Star here?" asked River.
Star looked at him.
"What are you saying?" asked Star.
"We're saying that we want you to stay with Marco," said Moon.
Star had a wide smile.
"Looks like this isn't goodbye!" she said excitedly.
The two of them hugged.
"But wait…" said Star, "What about Jackie?"
"Yeah, about that…." Said Marco, "Jackie and I broke up."
"What?!" asked Star, "Oh man, I feel like this is my fault."
"No Star," said Marco, "Jackie knew that you liked me, and she thought it was best if she stayed out of the way."
"Oh," said Star.
"Actually this brings up another point," said Marco, "When you told me you had a crush on me?"
"Yeeeaaaaah?" asked Star.
"Did you mean it?" asked Marco looking into her eyes.
Star sighed.
"Yes," said Star, "But I understand that you don't feel the same way."
"You just assumed that, and I didn't get to say how I felt," said Marco.
"What do you mean?" asked Star.
"Star, I should've realized this, but….. I like you too," said Marco, "Ever since you came into my life I've been more capable of doing the impossible."
"Marco…." Said Star.
"When you left, I was scared that I would never see you again," said Marco, "And I couldn't take that. That's why I came to Mewni."
"You really mean all that?" asked Star.
"Maybe this'll prove it," said Marco.
He cupped her face and kissed her on the lips.
Star's cheeks started to glow and she kissed back.
When they released each other they were blushing.
Star then looked at her parents.
"We didn't see anything," said Moon.
They both looked at the portal.
"Well, time to head back home," said Marco.
"Together," said Star.
The two of them left back for Earth hand in hand.
"I think our little girl has found her suitor," said Moon.
