I die a queen
February, 13th of 1542
A queen was going to die. She did not fear. She knew how to place herself on the block, she practised the night before. That as the last time for her to be watched by everyone one. If she regretted the mistakes that led her beloved Thomas to die, that made Henry suffer, she did not regret her life. Brief but intense. She lived the life she wanted to live.
' It's time, My Lady.' She was told
She made her way to make her final sentence.
' I have come here to die. I die a queen. But I would rather die the wife of Culpepper.'
She acknowledged her sins. And her final sentence was a tribute to the man she loved.
' Life is very beautiful.' She whispered
And the ex-queen Katherine Howard meant it.
