AN. Short conversation of when Arthur finds out the truth.
Disclaimer: I don't own, you all know the drill.
Merlin was a sorcerer. Arthur just couldn't believe it.
"I told you." He insisted.
"No you didn't. I think I would remember something like that Merlin." He began pacing in front of the hearth .
"I told you that I was a sorcerer the first month I was here. I said, I cured Gwens's Father." Merlin looked at Arthur pointedly before going back to his task of cleaning Arthur's amour. He was acting as if this was no big deal. Like his head wasn't on the chopping block. Worse still Arthur knew he could never kill Merlin. He was a good man, the Prince could never forget all those times this awkward, clumsy servant had saved his life. Arthur had watched Merlin changed from a boy to a man. His servant had become so much more to him. Dare he say it, Merlin was his friend. Not many could ever claim such a feat.
"You were in love with Gwen." Arthur had to be going into shock. There was no way this could be true.
Not Merlin.
He wasn't evil. There wasn't a bad bone in his body. He was naïve and yet there were moments when his wisdom surpass his years. Merlin knocked over the water jug with his elbow and Arthur felt himself smile very so slightly. The boy couldn't do anything right. If he had power then clearly they were all doomed.
Merlin snorted. "No, that would be you."
"I am not in love with Gwen." Arthur growled.
Merlin raised his eyebrow.
"She is not my type." Arthur glared at his manservant who was about to protest. "Shut up Merlin."
Arthur should have realised Merlin never listened to him.
"Either way I still told you. You had the information, you were informed, I never lied. Well maybe not never but I did tell you the truth to begin with."
"Merlin."
"Yes Sire." He blinked innocently.
Arthur groaned. "Shut up Merlin. I can't think when you are blabbering on."
"Or at all."
"Merlin!"
