"Uh... Rachel?" Percy said. "Why do you have a giant penny over there?"
Rachel glanced up from her painting at what Percy was referring to—the giant penny, courtesy of Apollo when he decked out her little Oracle cave.
She looked over at Percy and shook her head. "If you don't understand it immediately, it's not worth explaining."
"What? Why?" Percy really wanted to know about that giant penny.
Rachel snorted and went back to painting. "I thought all guys knew their superheroes."
"Huh?"
The redhead rolled her eyes. "Geez, Percy. You can be so dense sometimes. Batcave? Ring any bells?"
"No."
This time Rachel slapped her hand to her forehead in exasperation. She looked over at Percy. "Batcave? Oracle Cave? Apollo and I thought it made sense."
"But why a giant penny?"
She just shook her head. "Nevermind. You just don't get it."
"Why a giant penny?"
Rachel sighed and went back to her painting. "You really don't know?"
"No! I don't."
"Well then, sucks to be you. 'Cause I'm not saying."
"Oh come on, Rachel!"
She laughed and went back to her painting. The reason behind the giant penny would just remain her and Apollo's little inside joke, and she thought it was better that way.
A/N: So, little drabble-ish thing... which I never write. Haha, it probably sucks, but I've been wanting to write something about a giant penny ever since I had the epiphany that Rachel's Oracle cave (as I call it) was kinda like the Batcave. For those that don't get the joke, Batman has a giant penny in the Batcave (along with an awesome giant T-Rex) so I thought it'd be funny if Apollo put a giant penny in Rachel's cave... So, anyhoo, first PJO fic, so leave reviews and let me know what you think.
