As I walked down the staircase towards the main door, all I could think about was my father. how could he be dead when he was in perfect health a few weeks ago. Plus, it didn't help that Maxon had no feelings for me as I went.
I was bid farewell by the girls and their majesties inside whilst Maxon walked me out to the car. Just before I got in, he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Stay safe." He told me in a hush voice.
Maxon POVAmerica got in the car and drove away. I had this feeling that never occurred to me before. I think I was in love. My head was spinning with feelings whilst a piece of mmusic America wrote was playing. I started to sing along.
"I was the one who had it all..." I sang whilst climbing the stairs to the great doors.
"...I was the master of my fate. I never needed anybody in my life. I learnt the truth too late..." I sang whilst walking up another flight of stairs to reach America's room. By now, tears were threatening to fall.
"...I'll never shake away the pain. I close my eyes but she's still there. I let her steal into my meloncholy heart. It's more than I can bare..." I finally reached her balcony just in time to see the car drive out of the gates.
"...Now I know she'll never leave me. Even as she drives away..." I walked back out of her room, dashed up another flight of stairs and slowly approached my balcony.
"...She will still torment me, calm me, hurt me, move me, come what may..." I sank down to the floor of my balcony."... Wasting in my lonely bedroom, waiting by an open door. I'll fool myself she'll walk right in and be with me for evermore..." Tears were now falling freely down my face.
I raced down the flights of stairs before crashing into the floor.
"...I rage against the trials of love. I curse the fating of the light..." I reached our bench in the garden.
"...Though she's already flown so far be on my reach, she's never out of sight..."Quickly as I could, I ran back inside, up three flights of staircases up a spiral staircase before making it to the roof.
"...Now I know she'll never leave me, even as she fades from view. She will still inspire me, be apart of everything I do. Wasting on the lonely rooftop, waiting by an open door. I'll fool myself she'll come back to me. And as the long, long nights begin, I'll think of all that might have been. Waiting here...for...ever...more!" Rain started to fall drenching me in seconds as I finished the song.
Ever so slowly, I walked back down the spiral staircase and into my room. Just then, I saw bright red hair. No. It can't be. She's with her family not here. I thought. the figure turned around and I stared at the icy blue eyes.
"America?" my voice was fully of pain, joy, love, hope all in one word.
"Hi." She replied very quietly.
I rushed over to a draw and pulled out a velvet box. I heard America gasp as she saw what I held in my hands. I got down on one knee and asked...
"America, would you make me the happiest man on earth by being mine for evermore?"
"Yes," She slowly replied as tears swelled in her eyes.
The End.
