When Bill was a boy growing up in pre-Civil War Bon Temps, boys were raised to be men. These men were expected to take a wife, make a living and provide for their families. In times of war, men were expected to go off and fight those wars to protect their lands, livihoods and families. What if one man in that era preferred gardening to plowing? Choosing his wife's dresses to seeing her in them? Styling her hair to seeing her sensuous curls loosened from her head and cascading down her bare back?
Fast forward to a time when this man is now a vampire and living in a very progressive world. What secret, closeted passions might come to the surface? What choices are now available to our dear Bill? What scandalous decisions might he make?
