Chp 1 Whispering Omens
It was dark when Sakura Haruno woke up to her alarm going off, only at five AM. Slipping out of her warm bed she rubbed the sleep from her half open eyes, heading to her bathroom to take a shower. Once the hot spray hit her in the face she relaxed, but woke up immediately. Quickly scrubbing her long pink locks she got out. Goosebumps crawled all over her body as soon as the cool air hit her bare wet skin. While she dried off, she continued the rest of her morning ritual. It was five thirty, by the time she closed her front door, locking it. Sakura looked up to the darkened sky, ominous clouds glared back at her, almost as if they were to burst right on her head. With a sigh she continued on to the Hokage tower before heading to start her shift at the hospital. Her damp hair was pulled back into a braid, reaching to her waist. She had grown her hair out when she was with Neji. She envied his long silky hair, so she decided to grow her own hair out too. Neji liked her with longer hair, she looked classy, and sophisticated when it was in curls, loops, and twists. She was with Neji for two years and three months, until he went to his cousin, Hinata, whom he is now engaged to. Sighing with a small scowl Sakura focused her thoughts onto her current boyfriend. She and Gaara have been dating for almost two years now, surprising everyone. Even though Gaara was Sunagakure's Kagekaze he still looked out for Sakura, also loved her. Things have been rocky between the two lovers, but they always smoothed out in the end. Naruto was happy for his two best friends.
Making her way up the stairs she continued to think, trying to ignore her gut feelings that something, would go wrong during that day. It was an ominous feelings she couldn't shake off, and this worried her. Sasuke still hasn't returned to Konohagakure yet, and people were still on the look out for the young Uchiha. Sakura stopped and knocked on the double oak doors before entering, there her shishou, and Konoha's Godaime Hokage; Tsunade, asleep at her desk. Shaking her head Sakura went over and woke up her sensei. Grumbling Tsunade woke up, complaining of a hangover. Calling in Shizune she had the two women work. As the hours passed by quickly, the feeling in her gut wouldn't go away. Turning to Tsunade the pinkette frowned. "Shishou, do you have a bad feeling about today too?" She asked the older women, lacing her fingers together Tsunade looked back to her apprentice. Ember met emerald, Sakura's eyes looked troubled, confused, yet full of life. "There's a darkness roaming around this day. I too feel it, and it won't be good either. Why don't you go ahead and start your shift at the hospital Sakura." The blond said, then shooed the young girl out of the office. 'She's right, and whatever it is, better stay away from here.' She thought to herself jumping along rooftops. It was growing closer to mid morning, entering her office she threw things into the corner of her cluttered room before grabbing her white medical coat snagging her client boards for the day. Yes, something very dark was heading their way.
Naruto and Jiraiya were making their way through the forest from Hoshigakure; village hidden among the stars, both gone to train for two months then headed to Land of the Fang for a mission that lasted three weeks. Now Jiraiya and Naruto were making their way home to the hidden leaf village.
