"Hey, what did you do that for?"
I sigh, shaking my head and pointing at the door. Leaning against the door frame is Kain, wearing a look of "whatever" on his face.
Aidou Hanabusa pouts at me, and assumes his crying pose.
"Yuuki-Chan's being mean," he murmers.
Taking a careful step, I stand beside him. His face is pale, highlighting his big, blue-ish eyes and light blonde hair. Who doesn't love his cool looks and child-like personality?
I take a big breath. "Sorry," I say. "I didn't mean to slap you, that hard, anyway. It's just, kind of embarrassing. You know. This whole thing is still new and all. I guess it's just really hard to accept that…. You're really my…"
He straightens himself, and puts a finger to my lips.
"Shh." Aidou winks at me.
I turn crimson, but he only smiles.
"Hey, Aka-Chan, what's for lunch today?" He acknowledges Kain's presence for the first time.
Akatsuki stares at me, and slowly enters the room. "The usual; blood tablets."
"Aww, not again," Aidou groans. "Can't we have some fine blood from a proper human, like I used to take from you, Yuuki?" He looks at me with a reminiscent look in his eyes.
"Hanabusa." Kain says. His voice rings out in the large room. His intense gaze from his single eye forms an uneasy atmosphere.
The three of us stand there, no one saying anything, not one of us making eye contact with each other. The silence reminds me of the day, that very fateful day, two years ago.
