Xelloss and Zelgadiss are constant, and this amuses Lina in the cold nights when her thoughts are too dark to be healthy.
Amelia comes and goes, still trying to avoid her duty as Princess in Sailoon for the sake of adventure and torn out of their lives everytime Phil was almost but not quite murdered.
Gourry is a constant too, in a way, but he too comes and goes in his mind. Sometimes present, others away, wondering things only he can understand, only he cares about.
Syphiel joins them occasionally, for the sake of luring Gourry away from her, even if it's just for a moment, but since he comes back to her every time, Syphiel leaves quite fast as well.
Martina... Lina doesn't even want to talk about Martina.
Filia, ah, the good, honest Filia, she's like a page in their book, there, stating she had been with them once, but now gone for good and not willing to mess with them ever again.
No... but Zel and Xel... they were constant.
Xelloss would always appear at breakfast and irritate the chimera into snarling. Zel would always smile sweetly once he figured the game and try to be happy just for the sake of annoying the mazoku.
Xelloss would leave the fight as soon as he was needed, and Zel would enter it as soon as it started.
Lina could count on Xelloss to amuse her and guide her into a stupid quest to save the world, and on Zelgadiss to make sure she survived the ordeal.
Yes, Xelloss and Zelgadiss were constant in her life... perhaps if only they would realize they were constant to each other too?
