I do not own 40k or the Grey Knights, they belong to games workshop. Please review, suggestions welcome.

The Adventures of Valdor, Grey knight Grand master. Chapter one "the mission".

Valdor, one of the 13 Grandmasters of the Grey knights sipped his tea, across the table from him, Seneca, the most senior of the grand masters, glared at him, the reason for the glare, the tea.

It was common knowledge that most imperial commanders, Inquisitors and space marine captains were... for lack of a better term, one primarch short of a great crusade. (Wherever or not this was a reference to the missing legions was just as debated as to what actually happened to them.) It then naturally led that most chapter masters and Inquisitor lords were therefore quite, quite mad.

Grey knights were not insane.

They were much worse.

They were eccentric.

For the past three hundred the Grey knights had been bitterly divided.

Some drank tea, some drank coffee, both sides were addicted to their respective drinks, each side was disgusted by the others drink. Do not get started on how each side was itself split by such important questions such as was it better black, or with milk, and what were the best blends?

Valdor for one had a soft spot for Fenrisian tea, whilst Seneca a had thirst for the Armageddon coffee blends, this alone was enough for them to hate the other, and to refuse to even talk unless for the most important of reasons.

Seneca, still glaring at the tea with such venom that it could burst into flames, spoke first. "I take it you have heard of Huron Blackheart?"

A small smile crossed Valdor's face, "Yes, I believe the traitor legions hate him for taking the spotlight from them." It was true, the obscenities the various traitor legions had used about Huron had been quite funny.

"Well, it has been decided that he needs to be dealt with. We have ignored him until now, just because, quite frankly, we could not be bothered with a little upstart. Now however, he is just simply annoying, and gets on practically everyone's nerves, taking the spotlight from decent, proper traitors like the Alpha legion or Thousand sons, who at least have the decency to go full out on their decision, not just raising a Jolly Horus and becoming space pirates"

When he was sure Seneca had finished his rant, Valdor asked, "How do I fit in this?" he could already guess where this was going, he wanted to finish it quickly now.

"Simple Valdor, you my friend have the duty of cleansing the universe of Huron Blackheart, you and your knights will leave in a week, good luck," Seneca was practically grinning. How he loved giving the younger Grand masters long tedious missions. "Very well" was all Valdor said before leaving, having finished his tea he had no reason to stay in the same room as that coffee lover.

Please review, new chapters will be longer and hopefully, funnier.
