Asking her if she remembered anything that happened that horrible day might have been pushing her but I needed to know.
I needed to know if she remembered what I had told her, I just had to know.
And when she said that she didn't, when she told me that she didn't remember anything while lying there in a hospital bed looking more fragile than ever I dropped it.
But I knew, she remembered.
I have been studying this woman for years, reading her was second nature to me. She remembered that day, but I didn't want to call her out on her lie.
Maybe it was for the best to just let things be for now; after all she had a long recovery period ahead of her.
I would leave the matter alone for now, if but hopefully when she is ready, I know she will tell me the truth.
Until then I just have to wait.
