"Hey Jaune, what's that on your arm?" Ruby asked quietly as she could see the very solemn look on his face as he gazed out at the horizon covered with dark clouds which seemed to reflect his gloomy mood.
"It's just a reminder Ruby, a reminder of today and what I couldn't do…." Jaune replied glancing down on the black armband that was currently wrapped around his arm.
Ruby sat down beside him as a flock of birds flew off into the endless grey shroud that blanketed the sky, the silence grew between them as each minute ticked by. Jaune could feel the shudders and tears trying to force their way up as he tried to remain calm. His mind flashing all over the place recalling the times he shared with her, her hands in his at the dance, their sparring matches and occasionally when they ended up embracing from a grapple, when he woke up to see her sitting in her bed and staring out the window, the light hitting her just right. When she realized he was up she would turn and smile. "Hello Jaune, good morning."
He felt a breeze brush his cheek and a warmth with the smell of autumn enter his nose as his brain started to calm down and the pain in his chest subsided. He looked up in the sky as the sun broke through the clouds and a shaft of light landed on him and the memories of Pyrrha warmed him reminding him of everything that she had gave him.
"Trust in me and yourself, Jaune." Jaune heard as the wind suddenly picked up and he felt warmth along his back, hands and face, embracing him like a hug. Tears rolled down his cheeks unexpectedly as the light dimmed and faded away from the clouds.
Ruby wasn't sure what to do as she noticed the tears rolling down Jaune's face when she heard footsteps and saw Nora and Ren walk up and sit down on both sides of Jaune, Nora putting a hand on Jaunes while Ren tossed an arm over his shoulder. Ruby got up and walked behind the three putting her hands on Jaune's head as they sat awhile longer watching the sky before they would need to head back into Mistril.
