A figure of a gem walked through the dimly lit hallway. Another figure followed, he was locked in chains. Farther away a red Pearl was following them and making sure to keep her distance.

The first gem was wearing a red hooded cloak that was decorated with the crest of Homeworld. The other cloaked gem was much the same, but the hooded cape was a dark green instead of red.

Everything was silent until the gem wearing the green hodded cape spoke out. "Why did you frame me for your crimes against Homeworld, Scapolite? Didn't you used to care about me?"

Scapolite stopped and turned around. He took off his hood to reveal his dark, grey face. He had only one eye due to his gem being where the other should of been. Without warning, he punched the gem who wore the green cloak in the chest.

The Red Pearl quickly caught up to them and was about to help the gem that was punched to the ground but was pulled away by her master. "Don't feel pity for this fool, he lies to make himself look innocent to others," Scapolite growled angrily.

The Red Pearl backed away and then Scapolite yanked the fallen gem off the ground by her arm.

"You know nothing of justice, the diamonds see me as the perfect soldier to lead their gems on the battlefield now more ever since that show off Jasper of Yellow Diamond's court went missing".

"Maybe with this...higher authority, I could finally get the chance to do what I love most back during the war days, shattering," he said with a smirk. This really angered the the other gem. "You idiot! If I wasn't stuck surrounded in these chains, I would seriously-," Jade yelled before being punched in the face.

"Don't you think I'm already annoyed by you? Don't make me think about shattering you before we get to the diamonds. Now be quiet!" he growled, silencing Jade as they continued to walk through the hallway.

Both of them and the Red Pearl kept walking until they came to the end of the hallway where a two Amethysts stood tall at the doors. The guards looked towards the two hooded gems, they didn't budge at all.

"Halt, why have you come for," one of the Amethysts asked. But they soon quickly realized who he was. " Scapolite, it's a pleasure to see you," they greeted, although he quickly rolled his eyes.

"I have come with this Jade that has broken the laws of the diamond authority. Yellow Diamond asked me to escort her". The Amethysts looked at each other and then nodded. "Very well, you may enter," the Amethyst at the right side of the door said.

Scapolite nodded and then turned around to look at the Red Pearl. "Pearl, what are you waiting for? Open this door at once!" he shouted, getting Red Pearl's attention.

"Oh! Sorry!" she apologized and rushed to the panel of the door before Scapolite could harm her. She quickly activated the panel and door opened. The Amethysts moved out of the way as Scapolite walked towards the door, pulling Jade along him with the chains.

Scapolite walked through the doorway, Jade had no choice to but to follow in behind. Scapolite's Pearl got in the room just in time before the door closed.

Once inside, they could see that Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond did not look like they were not in the best moods.

"We should of shattered Rose Quartz when we had the chance, you're the one who wanted a fair trial!" Yellow Diamond shouted loudly. "We could of had this over and done with if you hadn't had to be so sincere with Rose Quartz".

Blue Diamond looked up with tears streaming down her face. "But how could I let you just shatter a gem that might not even be the one who shattered Pink Diamond? I don't know who to believe anymore...," Blue Diamond said in sorrow as more tears fell from her face.

Yellow Diamond looked like she was starting to get annoyed at Blue Diamond. Before she could speak again, Yellow Diamond finally noticed Scapolite and Jade. "You're here, I thought you might of lost your way to Homeworld," she said.

Scapolite saluted her with her hands shaping into a diamond. The symbol of the diamonds. Scapolite steeped forward towards the diamonds. "My diamond, I have brought you the Jade that broke the rules of the diamond authority. What should I do with him?"

Yellow Diamond looked down at both Scapolite and then stared long into Jade's eyes. She quickly sighed in disapoinment.

"I don't have time for his court trial or even his shattering, send him out into space," she finally said, making Jade look at her in fear.

"As you wish, my diamond," Scapolite replied, bowing and then leaving the room with Jade. Without Scapolite telling her what to do, Red Pearl quickly opened the door out of the room.

Jade was really starting to struggle against the chains that held her. "Your so cute when you're struggling in my chains. There's no one that's going to save you," Scapolite laughed.

Scapolite quickly nodded to the Amethysts and the continued down the hallway. Suddenly two gems blocked the way. One of them was an Apatite, her blue gem was on her forehead.

Behind her was a Onyx that was slightly smaller than a usual Onyx, she was more the size of a Topaz. Her black gem covered her left eye.

Scapolite looked angrily at them. "What is the meaning of this?! Get out of the way! I'm one of Yellow Diamond's elite warriors, I don't have time to be dealing with both of you!"

Without warning, Scapolite was knocked off her feet by the Onyx. The chains surrounding Jade vanished.

"Who-?" Jade was about to ask, but was picked up by Apatite, though she was not as tall as other Apatites, she made up with her strength. "Don't worry, we're here to save you," she said. Scapolite looked like she had finally lost it.

"Traitors! Do you want to save this lousy gem? You'll have to fight me," Scapolite hissed as she got up from where she fell and brought out her true weapon, a dark grey sword.

The Apatite who held Jade looked concerned for her friend. "We'll you be alright without me?" she asked.

The Onyx looked at her. "I'll do the best I can, but you must get away from here with Jade. Remember, we are doing this for him," she said and turned back to Scapolite just in time to stop her sword from hitting her gem by summoning her battle axe.

Clutching her axe, she stood her ground against Scapolite. "Go!" she yelled and charged at Scapolite. The Apatite that held Jade did as she was told and ran down the hallway, leaving the Onyx to fight Scapolite alone.

The Apatite ran through the hallways, Jade was still nestled in her arms. "Why did you guys save me?" Jade asked. "I don't think I've met either of you".

"It was a long time ago, we were the runts in the kindergarten. They would of shattered us, if it wasn't for you". Suddenly Jade started remembering her younger days when she was in charge of his own kindergarten. Back then it had been an honor.

She faintly remembered Apatite and Onyx, both of them were scared of what the Peridots would do to them. She had saved them when no one else would, she had offered them a chance of being members of Pink Diamond's court.

Jade started tearing up when he began to remember Pink Diamond. My diamond, my wonderful Pink Diamond... Jade was brought back to reality when Apatite started speaking.

"Oh, Jade. Thank you for saving us, today is the day we're going to pay back your kindness all those years ago".

Jade started to tear up even more. Was this what I was missing all these decades of serving the diamonds? Someone, to care about as much as I did Pink Diamond all those centuries ago?

Finally, the Apatite let Jade down. Jade wiped her tears away and looked around to see they were in the loading bay where all the ships and escape pods were. "The only way you'll be able to get away is for you to escape with either the ships or one of the pods," Apatite said.

Jade looked up at the Apatite with concern. "You're not coming? I'm not sure if I'll be able to last out there alone," Jade said.

The Apatite looked at her with a soft smile.

"Even if I may not be able to go with you, I want you to have the chance to explore space again. You been working here far too long, it's time that you finally know freedom," she said, just as both of them turned to see Scapolite enter the room to see her with the shattered remains of Onyx in her hand.

Both of them gasped in horror as Scapolite approached them. "Pointless fighting only leads to shattering," she said dropping the shards of Onyx onto the floor.

"Even the mightiest of gems eventually fall, it only takes time before you find a weak point," she growled, stomping her foot down on the gem shards, turning it to dust.

"Scapolite!" Jade yelled in rage, she started running at Scapolite with her sword. Scapolite was ready for this and summoned her sword quickly to block Jade's attack.

"Have you learned nothing about me when we were once allies? You should of known by now that I'm a skilled fighter," Scapolite spat and kicked Jade down to the ground.

Jade hit the wall hard, but she still got up. She was a bit shaken by the impact but changed at Scapoilte when her vision returned to normal.

"Trying to fight me again, are we? Do you like to end up like your friend? She paid the price with betraying the diamonds, what about you?" Scapolite asked, which made Jade even angrier.

"You monster! She was still young, just like Pink Diamond when she was shattered! Doesn't what happened to her mean anything to you?! Jade spat.

Scapolite narrowed his eyes at Jade. "You must still pay for your crime, Pink Diamond isn't here to save any of you!" growled Scapolite angrily, steadying her sword to fight.

Scapolite charged at Jade, with his Jade ready he was pumped up to fight. Letting out a battle cry, Jade charged and clashed blades with Scapolite.

"Fool, I will destroy you!" Scapolite hissed and tried to strike Jade with his sword. Jade back flipped gracefully out of harm's way and but messed up with her landing, crashing to the ground below.

Jade weakly got up, but Scapolite was ready for her, pointing her sword directly at Jade's face. "Any last words before I destroy you?"

BeforeJade could meet the impact of Scapolite's blade, Apatite intervened and blocked the attack with her lance. She pushed Jade into the nearest escape pod before he could even know what Apatite was doing.

Jade realized what Apatite was doing too late, but the escape pod door was closing fast. There was no way she could save Apatite. She had sacrificed her life for hers.

"Apatite!" Jade screamed the only words she could say before the pod door closed around her and sent her out into space

Apatite dropped her lance. She felt like she was slowly fading away, Scapolite's sword had severely cracked her gem. Her breathing was coming in gasps, Scapolite walked towards her. "You were more of a fighter then that Onyx ever was, maybe she could of learned more from you".

Scapolite lifted up Apatite's chin. She cruelly smiled at what was slowly happening to Apatite. "How does it feel to have your very gem breaking apart little by little. Painful, isn't it?" Scapolite asked though Apatite didn't answer.

"Tell me, where did you send Jade?" Scapolite asked menacing, putting her hand around Apatite's neck and picked her up.

Apatite weakly smiled, her gem was stated to crack even more. "You'll never find her...she'll find peace when Homeworld has not. Someday...I hope Homeworld will no longer rely on wars to survive...," Apatite said and finally, her form ceased to exist, leaving her broken gem shards to fall to the ground below.
