It was a dark and stormy night in Sleepy Hallow. The town was hush, except for the harsh pitter-patter of rain on the cobblestone street. The whole town was painted a dark twilight except for the flicker of my candle. I look out the window to the rain-beaten town, all is peaceful. Then something catches my eye. The faint gleam of a lantern coming from the stable- someone is in there!
"Who is in there, what are they doing?" I frighteningly mutter.
"I must tell father."
I walk into my mother and Father's bedroom, and I shake them awake
"Mother, Father!" I yell "There are strangers in the stable!"
Mother and Father look at each other, then me, clearly irritated. Then, my Father slaps me with the back of his hand, scoldingly
"you know for a fact that you are forbidden in this room, now leave!" he answers, agitated.
I ran from the room, sobbing, holding my hand to my newly tender red mark on my left cheek. I trudge to my room to look out my window The small light in the stable was still on. I at last worked up the nerve to slip on my coat, lace up my converse and head for the door. I unlocked the bulky wooden front door, and opened it with an eerie shriek. I walked cautiously on the slippery street up to the front gate of the stable. I stood for but a second to look at the rusted ironwork of the gate, and swiftly snuck in without a sound.
I see only one man at the end of the stable- doing who-knows-what. But he was a man I do not recognize. I turn around to make my escape, but my horse, excited to see me, lets out a loud whinny. Then man turns around to the commotion, I see his blue eyes gleam in the darkness. I try to run, but I cant. Either frozen in fear, or curiosity. He starts to run towards me. I slowly hobble backwards. I start to turn to run, but I cant, he has captured me. Then everything went blurry.
I awaken to what feels like hours later to find myself strapped to one of the stable doors. As I blink awake, I see my capture. He has a handsome, boyish face, his sleek black hair, just combed to his ocean-blue eyes.
"Who are you?" I involuntarily ask.
He does not answer, just turns around, gathers his things, mounts his black stallion, and rides off into the rainy midnight. I scream for help, as I am still bound to the stable door. I franticly look for an escape.
