The title of this story sounds kinda mean towards Sonic…oh well. I came up with this story when I realized: hey, they all say Shadow is related to Sonic, why can't it be the other way around? So here's the result. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: The Diary

Location: Christmas Island

Time: Fifteen or Sixteen years ago (depends on how old you think Sonic is)…

Those fools still think they've captured the real me on Prison Island and that I've been dead for thirty years now, but they have underestimated me, the great Gerald Robotnik. What they don't know is that I had found out that they would kill everybody on the ARK one day before they actually did. I quickly made a clone of myself and planned to take Maria and Shadow with me to escape. However, I could not make a clone of Maria and Shadow; the cloning machine needed at least thirty-six hours to be able to recharge and clone again. I knew that if GUN found out that both Shadow and Maria were gone, they would know I had escaped. It was the hardest decision I had ever made…

But I also remembered what my father used to say to me all the time: "No pain, no gain."

I decided to leave Maria and Shadow on the ARK…and escaped by myself to this island, bringing to me all the necessary things.

I almost wanted to commit suicide when I saw though the hidden cameras how they just murdered my dear, sweet Maria without giving it a second thought. And Shadow…poor Shadow, I knew he would never be the same ever again…

When I saw them killing Maria, only one thought when on in my head; I had killed Maria.

I though about my father's words again.

I had gone though the pain, and now it was time to gain. It's already happened, and there's nothing I could do to change it.

Through my nano-camera bots, I saw the 'real me' that they've captured on Prison Island slowly go insane and plot revenge.

But I shall not be that weak-minded.

I started to vigorously work on my second Ultimate Life-form project with the supplies I had brought with me, including Shadow's own DNA. However, I did not take Black Doom's DNA with me, so this hedgehog will be different; unfortunately, without Black Doom's DNA, this being will not be immortal. But no matter, I will make it in memory of Maria, making its personality just like her's; always happy, never giving up, and always thinking about others…

Today is a special day, for my ultimate project is finally complete. He will have the same purpose as Shadow; to benefit mankind. And perhaps one day, if Shadow somehow gets out of the capsule in Prison Island, he and this second Ultimate Life-form might work together to save the world. That would be truly wonderful…

I shall name it…Sonic.
