Hiding Among Lightning
Chapter 1: The Storm
Hi, I'm Andromeda, I'm your regular everyday weird school boy, I was dressed in a black hoodie and black track pants with black leather shoes and black socks, my skin is pale and I have black hair. I like black if you couldn't tell. But I also like the sound of thunder and the sight of lightning, it somehow calms me when I am in tough situations. I found this out when I was under pressure with a school test when in the corner of my eye I saw lightning strike then I heard a booming sound of thunder, I was then able to concentrate, so every time I have a test I secretly put in my earphones and put on some thunder sounds. When I found out about pokemon I found Zekrom, I instantly fell in love with it… that sounded weird. I fantasised about being a Zekrom, going to a silent place and causing a bunch of thunderstorms and just listen to the sounds of it… forever.
My daydreams were interrupted by the bell ringing, signaling the next class, science, on my way there I continued to fantasise about being a Zekrom, however I was so lost in thought that I bumped into almost everyone's bully, Bob Creighton. He looked at me with a glare before saying "Watch where you're going lightning freak" Did I forget to mention that everyone else knows about my thing with the thunder and the lightning so that makes me a freak somehow.
"Sorry, I was just lost in thought" I then tried to go around Bob but he put his hand on my shoulder and forcefully turned me around.
"Oh no no no. I'm not finished with you" people were gathering around to watch "I may need to teach you a lesson about respect" at this point I was terrified and he knew it. He could see it in my eyes "Marcus, Tobias, hold on to him for me" his friends each grabbed hold of one of my arms. At this point people had their phones out taking photos and recording.
Without warning a rage took over and I stomped my left foot on Tobias' own foot making him yelp in pain causing him to let go, with my now free hand I punched Marcus in the face, he held his face in his hands I saw blood drip from in between his fingers, I turned around only to get a punch in my own face by Tobias, I quickly recovered and blocked another punch coming my way, I took the chance and made a quick glance to Marcus who was running through the hall away from the fight, I went back to the fight and saw Tobias about to swing another punch 'this kid must really like to punch' I thought, but I ducked and knocked him over by kicking the back of his knee, once he got up, just like Marcus he too ran away.
It was at that moment that I thought it was over, until I felt a shoe on my back. I just now remembered Bob was still there, I was knocked to the ground, rolled over just in time to see Bob about to stand on my throat but I held his foot back with both of my hands. I was about to give in when I was starting to push his foot back, but yellow electricity surged through my arms and started to build up. It hit the floor, and almost hit the side walls, people backed away from the fight slightly but they continued to film. The Electric charge continued to grow and Bob's face was filled with confusion but before he could properly react the charge was released and he was sent flying back into a support pillar "That was…" I said through breaths "A good lesson about respect" People cheered and came up to me with many asking about how I made that electric charge but I kept saying "I have no idea"
It was about five minutes before a teacher came up to the crowd and asked "What the hell is going on over here!?" he looked over to Bob's unconscious body and looked shocked, coincidentally that teacher, was Bob's father, Mr Creighton. He ran up to his son and crouched down. "Who did this?" he muttered. He turned around and shouted "Who did this!?" He demanded. Most of the students slowly pointed towards me "Detention."
Mr Creighton lead me through the halls to his classroom 'He really didn't think about this, I get to skip class' I thought to myself. My hands started to get itchy and I looked at them, I could see my veins and nerves were black, I quickly put them in my pocket.
Meanwhile…
Two security guards were inside a Security Camera Watch Room (S.C.W.R), one was drinking coffee with his feet up on the table while the other was eating a doughnut in a chair on the other side of the room, both had multiple monitors, each showing HD security camera footage from different parts of the school.
The one with the coffee noticed something as he watched Mr Creighton walk down the Halls with Andromeda "Hey Jaden" he called for the other security guard, the second guard turned around in his swivel chair and moved his chair next to the first security guard.
"What is it George?" Jayden asked him with his mouth full of doughnut. George paused the security camera after rewinding it and zoomed in on Andromeda's hands and pointed to his black veins. "Oh my goodness." Jayden responded to what George showed him.
"I know right"
"His hands are really dirty" That got Jayden a slap over the back of his head was George's response to his stupidity.
"No you idiot" He let out a frustrated sigh "His veins are black. And after that fight that Bob and Andromeda had I'm guessing it was that shock of electricity that he unleashed" Jayden looked at George with a confused expression on his face.
"Bob Creighton, Daniel's son? Or Bob Smith, the one who's good at cooking?" Jayden asked still oblivious to the situation.
George facepalmed and rolled his eyes "Yes Bob smith fought him with Muffins, Cookies and Pancakes" he said sarcastically.
"Ooh. I love pancakes. I wonder if he has any left after their fight." he then thought for a moment " I didn't think he was a fighting kind of guy" George slammed his head onto his desk.
"How do you still have this job?" He said with his voice muffled due to the desk.
Meanwhile… Again... But this time outside.
Storm clouds slowly gathered in the sky, with no rain or lightning, but as soon it was above the school, it was bucketing down with rain and lightning struck the ground, trees and building. Everyone outside was running for cover. Well, everyone inside the school grounds. Everyone in the surrounding area were perfectly fine, a bit confused with the clouds behaviour but other than that they're fine. The wind grew in power, so much that there were umbrellas and playground equipment flying through the area, all for some reason being attracted into the eye of the storm.
The behaviour of the storm clouds attract attention from news and before most people realise there are news vans with weather crew inside. The crews were setting up but when the crews started broadcasting all main emergency services came to help aid in the situation with the storm. They started the evacuation of staff and students for safety issues, everyone was confused on what was going on… all except Andromeda who was in the detention room which is in the centre of the school.
