Percy finally ran home and sat down. He was nervous. His high school, Goode, had just announced their homecoming dance, and it was a tradition for boys to ask their dates out in a cute way. Percy wasn't too good at talking to Annabeth now, so figuring out a cute way to ask her to one of the biggest dances of the year was going to be tough. He went into his computer room, and googled 'cute ways to ask a girl to a dance.' He got a load of results, but none of them really suited what he could do. He wanted to make sure that she'd remember him asking for a while. He sighed and sat down with his new Stephen King book he checked out of the library. He'd have to give it some thought.
"Hey Annabeth!" Percy called out as he walked towards their meeting spot. She smiled at him. "You actually beat me here for once!" He said jovially. She laughed, but pointed at her throat.
"I sound weird when I talk. I'm losing my voice." She said weakly. Percy nodded.
"No sweat. We only have about 15 minutes anyways." He frowned. "I wish we had more time together." Annabeth nodded.
"Well, you know how we have the dance coming up soon?" Percy asked. Annabeth nodded, and looked expectant.
"Well… I have no idea how I'm going to ask you." He finished lamely. Annabeth's face fell.
"But! I plan on beginning to plan when I get home!" He said in a bizarre sentence. Annabeth laughed.
"I look forward to it," She said.
They talked for a little while longer until the bell rang. Annabeth stubbornly insisted on walking him to class every day.
"Well, I'll see you after school." He said. She nodded. "I love you 'Beth!" He said.
"I love you too." She mouthed. They kissed and went about their days.
Percy ran home and dashed to his computer. He had come up with the perfect idea for asking Annabeth to the dance. She had always liked his stories, so he would write her a sweet little story, and it with the big question…
J, want to go to Homecoming with me? You'd make me so happy :)

Annabeth eyes pooled up a little bit as she read the words that Percy had written for her. They were short, but sweet and to the point. She grabbed her phone.
Oh my god, I'm crying so hard right now. She sent.
Heh heh heh. Percy's message said. Like it?
I loved that, and of course my answer is yes! She responded enthusiastically. That was one of the cutest things anyone has done for me. I love you.
I love you too 3 Came his final message. Annabeth smiled.
She couldn't wait for the dance to start.
"Better start looking for a dress!" She joked.
She said yes everyone :3
