Hi guys! So I read all of the reviews and I saw a lot more rewrites than finish so, here is a rewrite of running! Enjoy!

Clary POV

Today is my 16th birthday and I would be really happy if my dad hadn't kicked me out of the house a year ago, after my mom died. He had said that I reminded him of her and he couldn't stand looking at me.

After that I was on the street for a few weeks until I got a job and met Sebastian. We went out on a few dates and after about a month, his mom let me live with him.

Not in the same room of course, but you get the idea.

Anyway, after about three months of dating Sebastian, his parents went out on a trip. That's when he started hitting me. I thought it would only be for that one time, but he didn't stop.

That's why right now instead of people throwing me a party or singing to me, I'm sneaking out a window. Before I can fully get out though, I hear a bang on the door and Sebastian starts yelling.

"Clarissa! Open this door! NOW!" I make a rope with the bed sheets and tie it to the bed post making sure it's sturdy.
"You stupid bitch! I let you in my house and this is how you repay me?"

He bangs on the door, and I can see a whole forming. I quickly grab my bag and throw it down.

When the bag lands I grab the sheets just in time for Sebastian to knock down the door.

"You whore! Are you trying to escape?" He shouts at me, but I try to block him out.

I close my eyes and scream as I jump out the window. I can hear Sebastian yelling from above, but soon I'm on the ground.

I pick up my bag and throw my phone on the side of the building. I bought another one with Sebastian's money.

I may not be the best at revenge, but I do know that an i-phone x cost a lot of money that he doesn't have on his credit card.

A taxi is waiting outside already, and I climb in.

"The airport please. Make it fast." I say quickly.

The taxi cab driver nods and starts driving. I already have a ticket for L.A. All I have to do now is board the plane.

I talked to people in L.A and I have a social worker and she found me a temporary foster home for now.

I enrolled in the witness protection program and as I sit back I realize something.

I'm free.

Jace POV

I'm in my room listening to music when Izzy comes barging into the room.

"Jace, mom called us all for a family meeting." She pauses and I roll my eyes. Here comes the dramatics. "Ten minutes ago! That is like an hour for me!"

I roll my eyes again. "Well, for normal people, it's ten minutes, so let's go, so you won't think it's two hours."

She sticks her tongue out at me and I laugh as we run down the stairs to the living room.

When we get there, Maryse looks tired and happy at the same time.

"Alec, Izzy, Jace, Max, I have good and bad news." She waits for us to all nod to indicate we understand.
"The good news is that we are getting a new foster child. She's only here for a bout three months. My guess is that she is running from something" Again, she waits for all of us to nod.
"The bad news is that I thought she was coming in a week, but she'll be here today. In five minutes. I'm so sorry."

Suddenly the doorbell rings and I race up to get it. I want to meet the new girl.

When I open the door there stands two girls. One has brownish hair and I recognize her as Tessa Gray. Beside her is a small girl that looks twelve and she looks emotionless and she just stares a head. I recognize that look. She's trying to block everyone out.

I open the door and gesture for them to come in and hey do.

Maryse is now up front and she holds out her hand. "Hi, I'm Maryse Lightwood and this Jace. and you are?"
"Clary Fray"
