I had a sneaking suspicion that Eric only got worse because Jason wasn't there to make him appear normal. Which led to this, mu-ha-ha-ha.

"Jason's coming! Jason's coming!" Eric Mathews jumped about the dorm room in an excited frenzy.

"who's Jason?" Jack asked, walking from the bathroom drying his oh so fabulous hair.

Eric stops and tilts his head quizzically, "you don't know Jason? He's only my bestest friend since we were in diapers."

"okay... when is he going to get here?"

"Monday, 5 o'clock, be there."

"okay, is he anything like you?"

Eric laughs strangely, for anyone other than him, "we'll see."

Jack shakes his head and walks to his room to put the towel away. He pauses, looks back at Eric, and shudders. Rebecca walks past him and looks at Eric, "what was that about?"

he looks at the tall red head, "I don't know."

Monday, 5:46 pm

Rebecca opens the door and strains her neck down see a 5 foot 4 inch white dude with black hair and a duffle bag. "can I help you?"

"I'm sorry, is this Eric Mathews dorm?"

"yeah, he's studying. What's your name?"

"Jason."

"what do you want him for?"

Eric's excited screech precedes him by a mere second, "JASON!" as he scoops up his old friend in a bear hug and swings him about the room.

"yeah, I missed you too buddy." he gasps.

He puts him down, "sorry, how have you been?"

"higher grades than you I think."

"you have to meet Jack, my new best friend."

"okay how about you get a basket ball and send him down."

Eric laughs, "he's not a basket ball."

"just go get the ball."

"okay."

Eric runs up the stairs and Jack walks down. "you're Jason? You seem deceptively normal."

"I am normal." he grabs him by the collar, pulling him to eye level, "what did you do to him?"

"nothing! He did that on his own."

he lets go, "that explains it. Watch this."

Eric returns with a football, "here it is. Are you friends yet?"

"getting there, and that's not a basket ball."

Eric looks down at it and smiles, "catch." tosses it.

Jason catches it and throws it back into his room, "you know, you'd look smarter in front of the lady if you got the right ball."

Eric nods and searches for the basket ball.

"this happened before?" Rebecca asks.

"yes, that one year I went to summer camp and he didn't. Poor kid, took me a week to make him appear normal again. Who knows how long this time."

Jack flinches as a crash sounds, "how long are you going to be here?"

"four days, don't worry. I'll sleep on the couch."

Jack shakes his head, "nonsense, you can sleep in my room and I'll bunk with her."

"nice try, but no." Rebecca responds. "you can have Jack's room and he can sleep on the couch."

Jack makes a whiny noise as Eric tosses the basket ball to Jason. "let's go!"

they head out the door to shoot some hoops.

Okay, in my head this is as far as I got. I think I nailed Eric but feel like I didn't make Jason funny enough. For someone who enjoys laughing making one liners is hard. Review what you think.
