You may think that sans and papyrus were the best of friends, as well as being brothers too. But what you will find out, that couldn't be further from the truth. You see, there was some underlying tensions between the skeleton brothers. Tensions that would prove to splinter the brother's relationship... forever.
It all started with poor sans, who was the inferior of the two brothers. He was short, stupid, and frankly didn't have any meaningful goals in his pathetic life. All he could focus on was his brother Papyrus, the superior and more successful of the two brothers. Sans was secretly jealous of his brother and maybe wanted to kill him... among other things.
One day sans was being a lazy piece of garbage, sitting on the couch watching some awful TV show. When sans was doing this, all he could think of is how terrible his life was. I mean, it was more comforting thinking about his failures than put his attention on the show in front of him. If he wasn't so terribly motivated, he might feel the urge to write a negative letter to whoever made this awful piece of filth on the television. However sans' own personal failures could only make him think of one other person, Papyrus. Just thinking of him gave him anxiety in his stomach. His cheeks flushed red from both anger and the empty vacuous feeling in his non-existent heart. Just as he was thinking of his brother, guess who came through the door. I'll give you three tries.
"Sans, I'm home after making something out of my life!" said Papyrus, making his grand entrance
"Oh that's soooo nice to hear my brother. I've just been doing the same thing I was this morning. Sitting on the couch and watching the TV as usual." said Sans with debatable sarcasm.
"Oh sans, my beloved brother, sassy as always. You should really put your lack of redeemable qualities to use and get a job." said Papyrus
Sans couldn't believe that Papyrus would call him beloved. Sans always had an inferiority complex compared to his clearly superior brother. Sans didn't even focus on what his brother said, what was it? Getting a job? Oh who cares, not like sans even needed a job, his brother did all the work for him and was also very tolerant of sans' lazy behaviour. Sans didn't need to change because he didn't want to, and neither should you.
"Sans! I am talking to you, are you stupid or something?" said Papyrus to his brother.
"I am, but that is irrelevant. Plus I don't need a job. You are doing a fine enough job on your own, and you are very amazing!" said sans, trying to complement his brother so he would leave him alone.
I should mention that Papyrus has a bit of an ego problem. All sans needed to do was compliment him and he would leave him alone. But would it work this time? You shouldn't be so impatient, I'm getting to it.
"Oh sans, you are so right! I am doing a great job, you know what, I think I will go to my room and bask in my glory while you sit there and be useless as always!" said Papyrus before going up into his room.
And so, Papyrus went to his room. However things were not all right, as Sans was, in truth, depressed. For sans' pathetic life gave him no joy, as it usually would. Sans couldn't stop thinking about his own brother, and how inferior he was to him.
No, Sans thought. I can't let my emotions get to me, I just need to bottle it up and I'll probably forget about my issues because I am so stupid... or so I am told.
Sans tried to fall asleep, but all that came out was the tears of his pathetic life. Sans couldn't escape his problems this time. That is, until he fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Papyrus finally came down from his room after thinking about how great he was for a few hours. He had become bored and felt like annoying sans. Papyrus liked insulting his inferior brother and also liked it when sans complimented him, so it was a win-win either way. However he found something he would find disturbing.
It was his brother... asleep! This was nothing new, but what was shocking were the tears running downs Sans' face.
"What?! Sans is sad? How tragic, I must do something about this, or else he may never compliment me again with a depressed attitude like that!" exclaimed Papyrus
Papyrus' loud, shrill voice woke up sans, who was embarrassed yet somehow aroused by the fact that Papyrus was watching him sleep. Sans blushed.
"Brother! What are you doing? I was sleeping and your loud and annoying voice just woke me up from my sleep on the couch." said sans
"Ah! Just what I suspected, happy sans would never comment on my annoying voice! Something must be done! Quick come with me!" Said Papyrus, who then grabbed sans by the arm and dragged him out to go get a job and make sans happy.
Sans had never been touched like this before. He blushed.
"W-why are you dragging me out? It's three in the morning!" said sans, trying to deflect the loving embrace of his brother. He liked it, but, no, he didn't, he swears!
"It doesn't matter! I just need you to be happy so I can have my sansy wansy back!" said papyrus, who then walked into grillby's bar
Grillby's is where Papyrus worked. It was modest work, but it paid good. Papyrus figured that work would do him good. He entered and gave sans a job application.
"See sans , all you need to do is write down some stuff about yourself and hand it in. Then you will have a job, and like it too!" said Papyrus, urging his brother on.
"Geez, do I need a job? It's not like I want a job or anything..." said sans before reluctantly filling out the sheet.
Sans didn't know what anything on the sheet said. Redeeming qualities, what are those? So sans just wrote down what his interests were... sleeping, watching TV, being useless. Of course, sans never learned how to properly write so when he handed in the application, Grillby didn't know what to make of it. However Papyrus, being the nag that he is, basically forced Grillby to accept the application.
"Finally, sans, you have a job! Now you will be happy and praise me... I mean you will be happy hooray!" said Papyrus
"Ok well, just let me go to sleep now." said sans, who was still tired.
"The next thing you need to work on is your attitude, brother!" said Papyrus
and so, the two of them returned home to go to sleep.
But what will happen? Will sans be good at his job? Probably not, if i had to guess. Will Papyrus' pushy and overbearing attitude blow up in his face? And will sans finally get serious for once in his pathetic life? Only I know the answers, and you will have to wait until next time until you find the answers!
