Bodyguard Speaks Out
Author's Note: Just a quick story that came into my head after watching Jasper's press conference at the end of S04E02. Can't wait to see what happens next week, but a little Fanfiction speculation will have to do until then. And I think we all are crossing our fingers that Jasper and Eleanor will finally get their chance after four seasons of will they won't they. However Liz Hurley says relationships change rapidly this season, so I have a feeling it won't be smooth sailing.
Also a quick note on spelling, I think it's 'Mum' for the British not Mom. But I'm not British, so forgive me if it isn't.
Jasper and Eleanor sat tensely as Helena sat across from them scrolling through the articles from Jasper's press conference. She read the titles aloud to the nervous pair. Her face impassive.
"Bodyguard's Identity Revealed, Britain's American Hero, Royal School Of Reform, I'd Take A Bullet For Any Member Of The Royal Family". Helena put down her iPad. "The press have been very kind to you Mr Frost." She said. "It is fortunate that your gamble appears to have paid off. Even the more controversial article may well work in your favour." She held her iPad out for them to see.
Bodyguard To Join Royal Family
Bodyguard, Jasper Frost, referred to the royal family yesterday as "the family he never had". The bodyguard claims he grew up learning how to be a conman, but that the royal family gave him a second chance to be a better person. He later in the conference, also revealed he has a lady love who he looks forward to spending a "long and full life with", but would not reveal who she is. Sources speculate this is because the lady in question is none other than Princess Eleanor. Which leads to the question of when the palace will officially announce the relationship.
"However." Here Helena looked at them both sternly. "Before you two go off announcing anything, you need to run it past Willow and myself."
"Yes your Majesty." Jasper quickly answered, while Eleanor nodded her assent.
"And I would also advise when in public you present yourselves in a way that won't encourage any tabloid speculation." Here Helena looked directly at Eleanor. "You in particular need to be contentious of how you appear physically."
Eleanor rolled her eyes. "It's not like the tabloids need any encouragement to make up stuff. But I'll do my best."
"See that you do." The Queen then smiled and softened slightly. "However, I'm glad things worked out for you both. Now walk away."
Hands still clasped. The pair leapt up before Helena could change her mind and walked away.
Eleanor and Jasper lay sprawled on her bed after their talk with the Queen. "This is just the beginning isn't it?" Jasper said.
Eleanor sighed. "Yep. Now you get to have strangers make up stories about you and snooty people judge who you are and what you're wearing."
Jasper chuckled. "Doesn't sound much different."
Eleanor leaned on her elbow. "Fortunately the press likes you, so the public should respond well to our relationship, which should keep Mum and Robbie happy.
Jasper leaned forward and kissed her gently. "While I don't care what they think, it will make our lives infinitely easier."
Eleanor smiled against his lips. "While you may say you don't care, I'm still proud of you for having the guts to stand up at that press conference yesterday and put an end to all the lies."
Jasper clasped her hand and looked into her eyes. "I just want to live that full long life with you."
Eleanor put her hand on his cheek. "Me too."
Neither of them said anything for a while as they worked on the doctors orders of getting Jasper's heartrate up. As they cuddled, enjoying the afterglow, Eleanor said suddenly "Mum is right thought."
Jasper spluttered, "you're bringing up you Mum now?"
Eleanor ignored him. "We'll both have to be careful how we appear in public after we announce our relationship."
Jasper frowned and motioned for her to continue.
"If we look miserable or appear too distant, they'll speculate our relationship is over, if I wear a diamond ring, they'll say we're engaged, if I look bloated they'll say I'm pregnant, if either of us is seen to be friendly with someone from the other gender we'll be accused of cheating. Basically anything they can make a scandal out of, they will."
Jasper was silent for a second. "Well we've fought this long and hard, what's a few more obstacles."
"Very true." Eleanor agreed.
"But we better not be photographed with Sarah-Alice, or they might think we're adopting."
Eleanor snickered at that. "And you better keep your bromance with Liam under the radar or someone will say you have a thing for twins."
Jasper outright laughed at that. "Speaking of Liam, him and I are going for a 'glad you're alive' pint later. And James told me we have to take along security detail, even though I'll be with him."
Eleanor chuckled at his put out expression. "Get used to it." She suggested. "If we ever do get married, you won't be allowed to guard yourself."
Jasper's expression was pensive, and for a moment Eleanor wondered if she'd said the wrong thing. "It's interesting." He finally said. "The idea of having my own security detail seems crazy, but the idea of marrying you doesn't anymore."
"Anymore ay?" Eleanor gave him a mischievous look.
Jasper looked bashful. "It may have crossed my mind a time or two, how I wished we were normal people that could just settle down with who we wanted."
Eleanor leaned in and gave him a lingering kiss. "It may have crossed mine too. But we've fought hard for this. Got to have something left to fight for."
Jasper held her tightly. "Well if there is one thing I've learned. You're worth fighting for and this time I'm not letting go."
"Me either." Eleanor whispered into his chest.
There was still a long road to travel, but from now on they would do it together.
