Everything happened in the blink of an eye. One moment, Allie and her parents were driving home from the movies, the next; the car was flipped over, her parents gone. Allie struggled to crawl out of underneath the up-turned car and when she was out of it, she searched for her cell, but then noticed that the paramedics were already there. She felt a pain by her leg and looked down. Her voice was gone as she noticed that her right leg was gone; from just under the knee down. She felt strong arms put her on a gurney and she felt everything passing in a blur. All in about thirty minutes, Allie had lost everything important to her. Her family, her legs, and the life that she had once known.
"Allie!"
Allie's eyes snapped open and she noticed Tina looking at her; eyes full of worry. "A-Are you o-o-okay?" She asked. Allie smiled weakly. "Yeah…I…just remembered the accident." She said softly. Tina nodded, understanding how painful the memory is for Allie. Allie sat up and moved to get off the bed. She put on her prosthetic leg, and stood, Tina helping her get upright. She nodded in thanks before leaving the bedroom. She wandered about the house, trying to find something to distract her from the memory replaying itself in her mind. The accident was a year ago, and it still haunts Allie. "Allie? What are you doing awake?"
Allie looked to see Rachel. Rachel yawned and rubbed the sleep out of her eye. "I…I'm just walking around. I…need to stretch." Allie said, adding a smile for more effect. Rachel nodded. "I heard Tina talking to you. You had a nightmare?" Rachel asked softly. Allie's fist tightened as she nodded. "The accident." She whispered. Rachel stepped forward and embraced Allie. "It's alright Allie. You're with all of us now. We're your family." Rachel said softly. Allie felt tears sliding down her face and she hugged Rachel back, crying into her shoulder. "It's okay. You'll be alright."
