Summary: "You must have caught Wrackspurts, there seems to be an epidemic at the moment. I'm pretty sure you got them from Hermione, you're in the same potion class, aren't you? And last time, when I told her that you were often staring at her, she seemed little confused... Just like you right now."
"You know, Nargles are often flying around nice people's head"
My gaze left the bowl of cereals that was in front of me, and rested on Luna Lovegood's face. Her big blue eyes seemed to observe me carefully, searching a silent answer to her affirmation. I didn't say a word, maybe too flabbergasted by what she just said, so she went on, explaining her incongruous theory.
"People are not always what they seem to be, and I think that deep inside, you're not an arrogant bitch"
I would have laughed if I wasn't so dumbfounded. Luna's tone was dreadfully serious and at the same time, a little dreamy - I felt a bit reassured by this thought. Her intense stare was not leaving me, and it made me shift uncomfortably on my seat. I didn't know what I was supposed to answer to that, my instinct taking control, I raised a skeptical eyebrow and said harshly
"What are you talking about, Looney?"
At this moment, Luna looked worried, still gazing at me, she seemed to be seeking an answer to a question I didn't even know. However, I didn't care, we were not even friends after all... I was about to stand up and leave when she resumed talking.
"You must have caught Wrackspurts, there seems to be an epidemic at the moment. I'm pretty sure you got them from Hermione, you're in the same potion class, aren't you? And last time, when I told her that you were often staring at her, she seemed little confused... Just like you right now."
My mouth fell open as Luna watched me with great interest. I also couldn't fight the blush that crept on my cheeks. Luna caught me watching Hermione? Luna told Hermione that I was watching her? I felt so embarrassed, I wanted to be turned into a mouse and flee the Great Hall. I kept closing and opening my mouth, hoping to find something intelligent to say, but no words escaped my lips, and I couldn't help but feel awfully stupid right now. Furthermore, the pink blush that had settled on my face made me feel hot, and it became dreadfully hard to breath. My eyes left Luna's and I stared at the table, hoping to hide my embarrassment and calm my respiration.
"You know, Hermione became as red as you when I told her. You should bough go to Madam Pomfrey, I think you two got too close to a Heliopath."
And then she left, leaving me speechless at the Slytherin table. It took me a little while to calm my breathing and to slow down my heart beat, but when I looked up, and my eyes fell on Hermione Granger, who was watching me across the Great Hall, I felt the blush coming back in full force on my cheeks. However, I couldn't prevent myself from smiling wide. Maybe the Nargles are right, maybe I'm not really the bitch everyone sees in me.
