Myst III:
Exile
The Legend Continues

Stars. Swirling tumbling stars as you hurled into infinite blackness. "Help!"Jovanise cried out in terror as he tumbled, spinning uncontrollably, in stars. He closed his eyes hoping he would not get sick. Opening them again he looked up and saw the crack growing bigger and bigger. Trusting Atrus's words he fell into the Star Fissure, but now he wasn't sure it was a good idea. Then a sound that would make you deaf occurred and frightened poor Jovanise. The fissure was collapsing. He screamed for help and saw pitch black coming toward him quickly. Another crack came followed by others. His mind was screaming and his life was flashing before his very eyes. Then he looked up and saw the blackness coming closer. And closer. Fast. And the next thing he knew everything was black.

"Jovanise! Jovanise! Are you alright?" He looked up and saw Catherine and Atrus bending over him. "Wha-? Where am I?" Atrus smiled. "In D'ni." "What? I thought this would take me home." "And it would take you where ever it was best to take you." "Oh. So, this is my home?" "Correct." Catherine called back into a doorway. "Yeesha! Come say hello to our new family member!" A young child stepped out and looked from his jet, black tennis shoes, to his bright, blond hair. "Hello," Yeesha replied softly. Jovanise looked to from her yellow robe to her D'ni chestnut hair styled in a D'ni way. Atrus broke his gaze by saying,"Welcome to D'ni."
